Chapter One: Welcome to "Paradise"
Tishay's P.O.V
Everywhere I go, I find stupidity, but no more so than my restaurant. I own and operate "Paradise Vista" and under me are my employees. Tommy is the the head waiter, Angel is the head waitress, Sara is the head chef, Haley is the sous chef, and Leanna is the Hostess. What do I do? I usually expedite and make sure all the food is perfect. Six people is all it takes because I choose my employees wisely. Their skills can't be topped, but some of their common sense is lacking. Namely: Angel. She steals Tommy's tips all the time and he never does anything about it. If I were him, I'd teach Angel a lesson. To make matters worse, she has a personality that blows and she is never careful with the plates. I've seen her! Dropping dishes left and right without a care in the world. Why haven't I fired her? I've tried, but my boyfriend who built the place won't allow it. Sometimes I swear he's more in love with Angel than he is with me, but I digress. Let's carry on, shall we?
"Tommy! Get this order for Table Seven!" I ordered. "Sorry!" Tommy apologized, "I had to clean up a mess that Angel made earlier." "Honestly, Tommy, why do you put up with her?" "I mean, she's only human. I make mistakes all the time," he replied. "Really? Is that so? So, stealing tips is only human? It's just a mistake?" I snapped. "As for that, I don't really need those tips anyway. Sara makes more money than I do, to tell you the truth," he smiled. "How can you be so carefree?! Look, just bring these dishes to Table Seven and we'll all discuss this later," I sighed as I handed him the food. "I'm apologize on his behalf, but honestly, I wouldn't want him any other way," Sara informed, "I mean, sure, he lets way too much slide than he should and that'll probably get him in big trouble one day, but if he wasn't himself, then I wouldn't love him. Despite his flaws, I love him for who he is, you know?" "I'm glad that someone loves him, cause I never could. Don't get me wrong, he's a nice person, but his amount of patience makes me lose mine," I chuckled. "Don't be hating on Tommy. He's awesome," Haley chimed in. "Ledford, do you have a thing for him or something?" Sara demanded. "Of course not, but no one should be hated on. Not even Angel," Haley pointed out. "Okaaay, but I've got my eye on you," Sara sighed as she put bread in the oven.
I stepped out of the kitchen for a second and watched Angel and Tommy for a second. "You all have a nice night," Tommy smiled as he waved farewell to the customers he had just served. Angel eyed the money on the table as she picked up dirty dishes on the table. Tommy was going over to get his tip, when the dishes came crashing to the floor. "I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention," she apologized as she covered her eyes. "It's okay," Tommy smiled with a sigh as he went to go get the broom from the closet. Angel used this opportunity to sneak the tip from his table and quickly pocket it. "I'll help you clean this table since I made such a mess," she offered . "That's okay. You don't have to. You need to get Table Nine some more bread, though," he instructed. "Okay," she nodded as she headed to the kitchen. "Hello, Tishay," Angel greeted as she tried to enter the kitchen. I grabbed her by the arm and dragged her to Tommy, who had noticed that his tip was missing. "Looking for the culprit?" I asked as I pushed her towards him. "Angel, if you needed money, you could've told me," he smiled warmly. "I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me!" she cried as tears fell down her face. Meanwhile, Sara was storming her way out of the kitchen. "You'd better step up your game or-" I began. "I know what came over you! You-" Sara screamed angrily, but realized that customers were watching. "Get in the kitchen. All of you," Sara snapped.
Everyone complied as I shot Sara daggers. "I get it, but you're not the manager and you don't go bossing me around, or things might get ugly," I snapped. "Excuse me? Did you say something?!" Sara glared, "I believe I was busy talking to Angel." "Look, I'm really sorry," Angel pleaded. "I know exactly what came over you. You lying, evil little hag," Sara snapped, "And this isn't the first time it's happened, either." "Sara... I really don't mind. Can't we all just get along?" Tommy smiled. "It's your fault, too, Tommy, since you let her do it," Sara added. "I'm not gonna yell at her like you do," he pointed out. "What did you say to me?" she inquired as she got back to cooking. "Nothing," he muttered. "I'm going to turn it over to you, Tishay, since you're the manager and can't follow simple instructions," Sara sighed. "Thank you," I smiled as I stood on a chair, "Johnny Butner is coming by this Saturday for an inspection. He's the most well known in the country, so it's no secret that his review will either make or break us. And Angel, I want to take you off the schedule for Saturday, just to be safe." "So, Tommy will have to wait tables by himself? An entire restaurant? I may be mad at him right now, but that's ridiculous. Nobody can wait for an entire restaurant," Sara frowned. "Angel, if you blow this for us, not only will you be out of a job, we all will. Even if I wanted to go against Trevor and fire you, there's no way we could hire and train a person in two days. So, no funny business or we'll be out of business," I warned.
