After the weekend had ended and we made our way back to school, everyone seemed to be in the ripe mood for gossip.
Yay
Obviously there were way to many parties, hookups, and screwups to even count. However, everyone seemed to all be focused on one thing not even partaking to the weekend.
I walked into school to receive a wave of whispers and gossip echoing through the halls. My heartbeat quickened as I sped my footsteps. Right before I was about to turn the corner, I felt a tug on my arm. I was spun around to face Molly.
"Ow," I exclaimed as she whipped me around to her side, "What was that for?"
"Shh," she hushed at me.
"Ugh Molly what is going o-"
I felt a finger up at my lips, silencing me from speaking, "There's a newbie," she hissed.
"What? A newbie? We never get newbies,"
"Not unless you're a genius like him," she scoffed. it was true however, only the best of the best could ever make it in Riverside, and maybe a newbie might show to everyone that he really was.
I continued as Molly shifted over to her locker to reach for a few books, "who is he?"
"I dunno, but from the looks of it, I'm sure he is very attractive," she pointed to a swarm of giggling girls lined along the office where the newbie seemed to be, "Or rich," she added.
"Geez, he seems like a celebrity already," I rolled my eyes.
"Tell me about it," Molly said as she slammed her locker shut.
"Well we should go talk to him later, I'm sure he's love to meet you," I dragged on until Molly stopped me.
"Shut up," she nudged me, "I'm still trying to see what Cameron is up too remember?"
"Well tell me how it goes," I called as we parted ways to our classes.

I was in the middle of my AP Psychology class when I heard a knocking on the door and a new face appear. It was a boy, standing at about 6'3 with Carmel brown hair and bright brown eyes. He seemed fairly well built and lean as he stumbled into the room. The uniform on him looked sort of rugged and quite attractive on him. To be honest, he was cute. Really cute.
As he strode over to our professors desk, voices seemed to grow softer and all eyes were on him. The boy started to whisper a few things as the professor nodded and smiled occasionally at the boy. After, he stood up and brought the boy with him to the center of the room facing everyone.
"Students," he started, "I would like to introduce you to our new exchange student from Canada, Shawn Mendes,"
All of the girls started to giggle furiously and whispers spread like bad news. The boy began to smile slightly uneasily, shifting his weight between his feet.
"Mr Mendes will be joining our class for the rest of the year as well, so let's give him a nice friendly welcome." the professor spoke. All the students nodded in agreement. "Shawn, you can just sit in front of Jolene,"
As those words escaped his lips, every girl gave me a jealous look of envy. But once the boys eyes met mine, something moved. He seemed to look at me with a look of wonder or awe. Not a normal look of a pleased smile or a fake expression. He just seemed so...real. But as soon as the boy sat down in front of me, the voice level started to return to normal.
"Hi," the boy made no hesitation to swivel in his desk and introduce himself, "I'm Shawn," I raised my head from my desk, was he talking to me? I suddenly heard him start to clear his throat and extend his hand out to me, "Nice to meet you,"
