Chapter 6

The rest of the weekend went by with nothing special happening, I ignored my family and locked myself in my room. Grant was the only one allowed in. Now it was Monday, I was a little anxious to see what would happen, especially how Kade would act.

"Don't stress Xay, nothing bad will happen." Grant assures me,"Besides, Melanie and I are here for you when you need us."

"Thanks Grant." I said forcing a smile at him. We had just pulled up to the school, and we now walking up to the entrance. I saw Melanie coming over to us, her brunette hair bouncing with each step.

"Hey guys, what did you do this weekend?" Melanie asked us cheerily, I relayed to her the whole story about Kade getting mad and leaving me at the mall.

"What?!" Melanie shrieked,"When I see that boy today, I'll castrate him and make him eat himself!"

Knowing Melanie she probably would, but it doesn't matter really. I'll deal with Kade, he'll have to talk to me in the parenting class because we're partners.

"I'll handle him," I tell Melanie, when she gives me a look I add,"If I can't get anything done then you can castrate him."

"Good!" She says cheerily, then she walks to some other group of girls, probably her cheerleader friends.

"Hey, I gotta go talk to coach about the game next Saturday. Will you be fine by yourself Xay?" Grant asks me, worry clear in his eyes, I'm perfectly capable to do stuff by myself jeez.

I roll my eyes at him,"Yes Grant, I can walk to my locker by myself."

"Okay Xay, I'll see you in first period." Grant says before he walks off to the athletics building.

I start to walk toward the school, my mind jumbled with thoughts. What is Kade going to say or do to me in class today, maybe he'd just ignore me. I was so deep in thought I hadn't watched where I was going and I bumped into someone.

"Watch where you're going fag." The voice sneered, I looked up to see Miles, he'd been talking to Ross. Just my luck, these two hate me and they know about the mall incident too. Ugh, I hate my life.

"Sorry." I say quietly walking away, before my backpack was roughly grabbed and yanked me back.

"Ross, the fag touched me, I think it deserves punishment for that and for trying to turn our boy Kade like him." Miles said, disgust clear on his face.

Ross smiled and balled up his fists,"Yeah, maybe we'll beat the gay out of him."

That was when the first punch was thrown, right into my gut. I got sent to the ground and started struggling to breath, Miles picked me up and threw me into the lockers. I weakly looked around and saw that people were just watching this, some people were laughing, but nobody made any moves to stop them.

Ross punched me in my face, I let out a yelp and a groan of pain. Then Miles dropped me to the ground and stepped on my hand, then they started kicking me. Every kick went straight into my gut, some into my ribs, I faintly heard somebody running over and pushing them off me.

"What the fuck do you thing you're doing!" The voice yelled, that's all I heard before I blacked out.

--------------In the nurses office-------------

I woke up sore everywhere, I wanted to open my eyes but I was still tired so I kept them closed.

"Nothing is broken, but he will have some bruises and a concussion." A female voice said, it sounded like the school nurse. I faintly remembered running into Ross and Miles, they must have beat me up again.
