I tried to call the number back but its already out of coverage. I suddenly wonder who the caller was? One of the police, perhaps? But I already told Chris to tell them not to bother me. Can't he at least do that? But if its one of the policemen, why can't I reached him now?

Could it possibly be.. him?

I wasn't able to get a good sleep that night. The thought of Stephen keeps me awake. I wonder how he's doing. Did he move from that secret woods? Is Peter still supporting him? Can Peter probably tell me how he's doing atleast?

"Charm, honey." I heard my mom knock into my room and I immediately stand up to open the door.

I smiled at her, "Morning, mom."

She smiled back. "Did you sleep well?"

I nodded but my conscience is yelling inside me, 'liar!' but I just chose to shrug it off.

We headed to the kitchen and we saw Dad is already in the table, reading the newspaper while a cup of coffee is in his other hand.

We seated opposite him and as soon as I started eating, Dad speaks up.

"I heard you made a presentation yesterday with the board of directors.."

"Really? That's great! I'm sure you did well, honey." Mom commented cheerfully.

I just smiled at her.

"I also heard you argued with Lance." Dad added just before I answered.

I sighed. "Well, yeah. But we're fine. Its just.. a little misunderstanding. But we're good."

"I think I need to remind you that Lance is your boss. You need to respect him and follow his orders. Arguing is not even an option. I don't want to hear something like this again. Are we clear?"

"Yes Dad." I surrendered.

After that conversation, our breakfast was enveloped with silence. Mom tries to speaks up but we are both non-cooperate of the conversation and she suddenly figured out. We are both not in a good mood.

I kissed my mom's cheek before I went out and bid my goodbye to Dad who did not even give me a glance. I thought we're okay, but I guess he still hold grudges from me. He's still disappointed and he is not trusting me enough to this. And that tore my heart into pieces.

All my life, I've been trying to please him. I did my best in school and even take the business course, forgetting what I really want. I give up my dream to be a doctor just to make him proud. But everything I did to build up our relationship crashes after Chris came and that day happens. I guess things will never be the same again after that.. No matter how I work hard for it. Our relationship is like a broken glass, completely shattered and no matter how I try to fix and put the pieces together, the broken fragments remain.

"Charm!" I saw my mom followed me outside the house. "I almost forgot," she muttered as she handed me the car keys. "Your dad told me to give you back your car so that you won't need to ride a cab back and forth."

"Thanks, mom. I know it took you all day to convince him." I smiled and kiss her cheeks again before I headed to our garage.

"Of course not! Just.. all night. Take care, honey!"

I waved at her before ridding my red car.

As soon as I arrive at my office, I started reviewing the presentation I made yesterday. The board said they will still discuss if they will use the marketing plan I proposed or they will think of other strategy. Well, its okay if they will think of alternative way to promote the product, but if they will decline it out because of subjective judgement, I don't think I can take that.
