Chapter 9: Memories, Moments And Magic
Moriko
"Hey, bubba you can't catch me." The little girl sang as she ran around on the freshly cut grass. Her laughter rang through the air like wind chimes ringing in the cool, summer breeze. Her brother laughed and chased after her.
"I bet I can." He grabbed her by her tiny waist and lifted her up, spinning her round and round in circles. Then suddenly he dropped to the floor with her in his arms and started tickling her.
"Stop it, bubba, stop it." She laughed and tried to bat his hands away.
"What's all the fuss about?" A woman with black hair appeared. Balanced on her hip was a small girl with snow white hair and amethyst purple eyes, she had her thumb in her mouth and looked around curiously. A young boy clutched on her hand, his white hair was cut short and you could see the humour in his amethyst eyes as he watched his twin sister being tickled.
"Mama, bubba was tickling me again." The little girl said as she sat up her lips in a pout.
The woman laughed, her eyes glittered with happiness as she watched her children. She put the small girl down and walked up to her other daughter. She lifted her up onto her feet, then laughed again as the girl pushed her hair out of her eyes.
"Moriko, you really need to get your hair cut."
"But Mama." She complained, "I want my hair like bubbas. He has long hair too."
"Yes but he ties it back, you should tie your hair back too."
"Okay, Mama."
The woman turned to look at her son, he also had white hair and amethyst eyes, but his were very light, like a pale violet colour. He was blind you see, but it never stopped him from having fun. He used his senses and sometimes he would use his wolf's eyes to help him see, but it took a lot of concentration to do it.
"Come on you lot, I made apple pie." Their Mother called.
The girl grabbed her twins hand and her older brothers' hand and swung them back and forth. The older brother lets go of his sister's hand, bent down to pick up his baby sister from the floor before grabbing her hand again. They set off walking back to their house door where their Mother stood waiting for them, the older brother balancing his baby sister on his hip and held hands with his two troublemaker siblings.

I wake up with a start, panting like I had just run a marathon. I looked to my side to see Ryuu was still knocked out, a smile made its way across my lips and I lay back against the headboard. I had another memory in my sleep. At that time Tatsuya and I were eight, Kenshin was fourteen and Kazue was six. At that time, Kenshin hadn't left yet. At that time everyone was happy and there were no troubles at all. Then he suddenly left, no one knew where he went or why he left but we all knew he wasn't coming back anytime soon. Kenshin was our older brother, Tatsuya, Kazue and I he was six years older than me and eight years older than Kazue.
We were as close as ever and when Kenshin left, it played a big part in all of our lives, I think it hit our mother the most, she was always very protective of Kenshin; him being blind caused her to become very overprotective. When he was little he would need help with a lot of things, it slowed down as he grew older but mama was always there for him.
I looked down at Ryuu, he was still sleeping. I stroked his hair lovingly, the rust coloured locks were as soft as silk and the white and black streaks stood out like lightning on a stormy night. How did I get so lucky to get such a loving mate?
