Chapter 5 - And I said...

"Seher, I don't know how to say but...-" he trailed off. Oh God!

He looked down at his hands and sighed deeply, then he quickly looked up straight into my eyes and said - 

" I wanted to ask you, do you want to go with me to the after party..." he paused, my breath got stuck into my throat.

"As my date?" he finally said after what felt like ages.

I gasped and looked at him wide eyed, of course shock written all over my face. He kept staring at me with expecting eyes, I looked down unable to look at them anymore.

"Jazeem...I -" I trailed off not knowing what to say.

I mean come'on people don't keep asking me out on regular basis, huh what am I even thinking. Gosh! he is still waiting what am I gonna say to him. How do I even look up...

"It..Itss ok, I mean its alright, I understand.. -" he stuttered.

I looked up at him, he was looking everywhere except me. Biting his bottom lip, letting out a small awkward chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck out of embarrasment, so Jazeem.

My heart melted that instance, I smiled at this innocent yet cute reaction of his.

"Jazeem..." I said when he looked up, running a hand through his messy hair. 

"Yes" I said trying hard not to smile or blush or look down. I didn't want him to know that he had such a weird affect on me.

"Huh?" he asked confused raising an eyebrow.

"Yes I will go with you" I said.

He looked at me for a good 7 seconds, yes I was counting! Then he suddenly shot up and exclaimed - "YESS!"

I gasped at his sudden reaction, and so did many others in the hall. I suppressed the urge to chuckle, I bit my bottom lip and looked away.

He finally realised and let out an awkward chuckle before rubbing the back of his neck again. He smiled and ran towards the front exit and turned to look at me. He smiled at me and mouthed 'Bye' before running out.

I sensed my cheeks burning, I pursed my lips and stopped myself from grinning sheepishly. Gosh!

I took in a deep breath and looked at my clipboard, I looked up to pick the microphone when I saw Jia standing with her arms crossed against her chest and a grin plastered on her face.

"Oh my God Oh my God Oh my God!!" Jia continued exclaiming in excitement with her palms cupping her cheeks.

"That is just so cute..." she cooed elbowing me.

"Jia..." I said embarrassed. Eventhough the auditions are over there were still few girls left, I dragged Jia to the cafeteria to grab a bite...actually to tell her what Jazeem said.

"Wait till I tell this to Munnu and guys...their reactions will be priceless" she said picking her cell phone and dialing a number.

"No wait, we will tell them later..." I said snatching her phone away.

"What? why!?" she whined frowning.

"Nevermind, by the way what took you so long to fetch a mere list?" I asked giving her a stern look.

"Oh yes! I got a call from mom...guess what she said?" She said excitement evident in her voice.

"What?" I asked furrowing my brows. 

"Jhanvi is coming!" she shouted in my face.

"What, no way!" I said shouting equally loud and excited. 

"Yes way, and oh we've got to pick her up from the station at 6 today." Jia said.

"What" I said glancing at the clock hanging on the opposite blue wall.

"Its 5:30 already, we must run.." I said grabbing my bag and Jia's hand before running out.

We took our bikes and rode off towards the station as fast as possible, this road is always quite empty so we quickly made our way to the station without any hinderances.

We parked our bikes near the enterance and walked towards the 'Information desk'. The lady behind the counter informed us that the train is not delayed and shall arrive any minute now. We sat on a bench and waited for her train to arrive, meanwhile we spoke about the times when Jhanvi used to study with us in Oakridge. 

Jhanvi is 3 years elder to Jia and her only sister, she graduated from Oakridge couple of years back and has been studying in Silver Oaks since then. She was our senior and the former head of the Cultural Activity Committee, and a great one though. She was a beautiful person, always smiling and making others smile too. All in all, a very kind, chirpy, confident and sweet girl. I really admired her, oh and she was the one who recommended the faculty my name for the position of  'The Head Of The Cultural Activity Committee'.

Unlike most sisters they both are rather close to each other, no matter how close we are to Jia, Jhanvi is her first best friend. She shares all her secrets, her fears, her ambitions, everything about her with Jhanvi.

This bond that Jia and Jhanvi shares, really makes me happy. I wonder how it feels to have a companion in whom you can confide in, on who you can trust blindly. Someone you know will have your back even in the gravest of situations, someone who would remain your best friend all your life. Someone you can share everything with, someone who would accept you with all your flaws. Man, I wish I had a sister like Jhanvi. Having brothers isn't helping me so far...

A loud and familiar voice snapped me out of my thoughts and made me look into the direction of the source of the sound. 

Jhanvi.

"Jiaaa.." She shrieked, making other passengers look into our direction.

She came running and hugged Jia, she lifted her off the ground and spun her around. The platform was filled with their happy giggles and chuckles, this made me smile lovingly. 

There is so much of love between them. Oh! I envy Jia...

"You havn't grown much since the last time I saw you, shorty.." Jhanvi remarked placing her back on the ground.

"And you haven't lost any weigh since the last time I saw you, fatty!" Jia retorted.

Jhanvi made a fake scowling face before sticking her tongue at Jia. Jhanvi dropped her backpack before looking at me, before I could say a 'hi' she crashed into me, squeezing my fragile frame.

"Awh, Seher...I missed you. How have you been?" She asked still holding me tight.

"Jhanvi...Uh, I..cann't breaathh.." I managed to blurt out.

"Oh! Sorry, my bad." she said, leaving me and hitting her head slightly.

I took in a huge breath, before looking up at the two sisters. "Nice to see you Jhanvi" I said smiling.

She gave me a very sweet and genuine smile, before picking her lugagge and saying - "Let's go"

Heyyyyy beauties!!...XD how've you been!?...
