Disclaimer; I am not in any way implying that if you have acne or dry skin or whatever then you are not absolutely beautiful the way you are. I wrote this for the people who would like to know what is better for their skin and what to do if they want to start taking better care of it. You are stunning with your acne or without it.

Firstly, for those of you who want to know, making your own skincare products is healthy and better for the environment than buying them. I personally think making skincare products is better because I know for a fact that the products I make are 100% cruelty free.

What are some ways to take care of my skin without facial masks and scrubs?

I find that drinking at least 7 cups of water a day helps keep acne away.
Also, though many people think that chocolate gives you acne, that cannot be proved scientifically. In fact, dark chocolate can help to prevent acne. Eating citrus can also detoxify your liver and kidneys, as well as your skin. Greens like spinach and arugula are packed full of antioxidants and can give a radiant, blemish-free face.

You can also ensure that your face stays clear and glowing by getting at least 8 hours of sleep at night. And if you don't wanna sleep at night, it's been proved that good sex can give you a glow like almost nothing else.

What are the best store-bought products I can buy for my face?

If you're going for some store-bought products, I recommend the Dr Organic Rose Otto Face Mask. This mask is meant to draw oil from the pores and get rid of dead cells on the surface of your skin. It is said to leave your skin looking younger, toned, and purified. The United States price is $7.99.

The Willow Organic Beauty Hydrating SuperMask is also awesome. It's a very hydrating gel mask and is made to restore vital nutrients for your skin. It goes on very light as well, so you can go about your business while wearing it without any dripping or hardening.
United States price is $10.61.

I'm also a huge fan of the Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask. This mask absolutely obliterated my blackheads on just the first time i used it! It's also really fun because it bubbles up on your face like a cloud. ☁️
United States price is $10.96.

DIY

1. I really love the egg and olive oil mask because not only does it make your skin glow, it's also very good for your hair and promotes hair growth. All you have to do is crack an egg or two into a bowl, add the desired amount of olive oil, and mix it. Apply it to your face or hair and leave it on for 15 minutes; then wash it off. You'll need to repeat this process 1 to 3 times a week for your face, and once a week for your hair.

2. If you want softer, lighter skin then you should try the baby powder mask. All you have to do is add a few drops of water to some baby powder and apply it to your face. You can wait as long as you want for this. The results will be a paler, softer face. You can do this as often as you'd like.

3. The coffee mask is very effective and popular across social media. It's a combination of coffee grounds and a bit of olive oil. Massage it into your face for about thirty seconds every day for a radiant glow.

4. My favorite DIY face scrub is a sugar scrub! All you need is about two tablespoons of sugar, a few drops of lemon juice, and a bit of honey. Massage that mixture into your skin and your skin will be softer and very very glowy~~ Make this part of your everyday skin routine if you want it to be effective.

5. If you want longer eyelashes and mascara doesn't work for you, I recommend applying Vaseline to your lash line before you go to sleep. This may not be effective for everyone, but even if it isn't, it will improve the health of your lashes. This also works for your eyebrows.

More Tips

If you find that your lips are chapped more often than they should be, it may be because of dead skin on your lips. You can use a toothbrush to remove it, and keep them healthy with a good lip scrub. Unfortunately, I haven't found a good DIY for lip scrubs yet and they've all failed. But if this is the case for your lips, chapsticks and lip balms may not work.

If you're concerned about aging, make sure you get 8 hours of sleep every night. Exercising and being active is also really helpful for slowing down your aging process. Also, hot tea of any kind will do wonders for your complexion and may help with aging. It also improves happiness and calmness.

As a Buddhist, meditation and yoga are important parts of my daily routine. If you're interested in trying these things, they are also helpful for your skin and health! Meditation can reduce stress which will keep acne away, and yoga will keep you light on your feet and feeling young.
Meditation is not for everyone, though. Since you have to stay still and quiet for periods of time, it may be hard for people with disorders such as ADHD and autism. If you are one of those people, I recommend working your way up to the long periods of meditation. Start with five minutes, then go up to ten when you're ready, and so on.
