Chapter 5

Totally sorry my dudes. I've been stressed lately with things and I haven't had a whole lot of time to write, but I got it. The cover contest ends soon and I only have 1 entry, so chop chop guys. I will not accept covers after 11:30 on Monday, August 28. On the other hand, a HUGE thanks to you guys, my AMAZING readers, who have given me 1K reads!!!!!! This book hasn't even been up for a month and I already have 1K reads. THANKS YOU!!!!!!!!! Anyways, here it is, Chapter 5!!!!!!!!

--Astara's POV--

Today is the day I start training with the cutest guy at Lake Annecy, Stewie. He is so cute with his brown hair and his hazel eyes...snap out of it. You need to focus. I get dressed into a pair of grey breeches and a light green polo. Once I'm dressed, I go to the guest room to make sure Jesslyn is awake. I hear her music playing and I can hear her zipping and unzipping her suitcases. Once Jesslyn's ready, we grab apples and head to the stables.
We get to Bright Field and I see Autumn, Estelle, Marcus, Justin, and Stewie. Man, why does he have to be so cute?! Mark and Pin come in through the side gate as we're doing our chores. Once everyone's here and have finished their chores, we start training.

--Becky's POV--

I see Estelle standing with her horse by the round pin. I bring Bob over to her so we can start. "Hey, Estelle!" I say excitedly. "Hey, Becky." She gives me a small smile. "So, what are we doing over here?" I ask.
"I wanted to do some trust exercises." I don't understand and I think Estelle can see my confusion. "I want for the two of us to feel comfortable with and on each others horses." Wait, did she say on each others horses? "Don't worry, Chevalier won't do anything to harm you I promise." Estelle says. Oh boy. This is definitely not going to be horsesome.
Estelle puts her horse in the pin to show me what we're doing. She has Chevalier on one side of the pin and she's in the middle with a lunge rope. She swings the rope behind him to get him going in a clockwise direction in a canter. She keeps him going like that for about a minute then stops him and turns him around to make him canter in a counter-clockwise direction and keeps him like that for about a minute. Once she's done that, she slows him to a stop then turns around and takes a few steps away from him. Chevalier comes up behind her and puts his head next to her shoulder.
"Good boy. Alright Becky, your turn." Estelle says. "With him?" I ask, pointing to her horse. "No, with Bob. I want you to do the exercise with a horse you trust so you can get the hang of it. You know, like a warm-up before we do it on each others horses." I not and bring Bob into the pin and start the exercise.
I just finished bringing Bob sound the in for the second time, so I bring him to a hault, turn around and wait till he comes up behind me. I hear him walking, but he doesn't come up behind me. I look over and he walks around me and stands in front of me.
"Really Bob? You couldn't have just come up behind me?" Estelle laughs, "I've never seen a horse do that and I've done this exercise alot." "Bob's just special." I look at my watch and I have 10 minutes before my shift at the cafe starts. Lately my shifts at the cafe have been getting earlier and earlier. Usually I wouldn't be going in for another hour, but people are quitting and leaving, so I have to get the earlier shifts.
"Sorry to do this Estelle, but I have to leave for my shift at the cafe." "Don't worry about it. I'll see you later, Becky." "Bye!" I say taking Bob out of the pin and to his stall.

--Estelle's POV--

Becky just left for her shift at the cafe and Zoe is still in her lesson with Jess. I look at my phone to see that it's only 11:30. I decide to put Chevalier Noir away and go watch Mark struggle, I mean teach. Nope, I mean struggle.
When we were kids, Mark had to explain alot of things to me. He was never too great at it. For example, when I was learning how to read, I had asked him how he reads and he said 'I don't know, I just do it.'
I walk to the arena to see confused Autumn and Marcus with an irritated Mark because he doesn't know how to explain what he wants to explain. "I think you're co fusing them new than you are teaching them." All of them turn to look at me. Marcus smile at me with his world famous smile.
"What about you, eh?" Mark asks, "Where's Becky? I bet you scared her off." "She had to leave for her job at the cafe and she was excited about my lesson, thank you very much. Since I didn't have anything else to do, I came her to watch you struggle."
Mark scoffs, "I haven't struggled. These guys are natural jumpers, so I didn't have to explain a whole lot." I look over at Marcus to see him shaking his head and he mouths "He struggled alot." I try not to laugh because I know it's true. "We're done here for the day. Well continue this tomorrow." Mark says bluntly.
Marcus gets off Monty and walks over to me. "Hey." "Hey. Did you have a good lesson with Mark?" He gives me a blank stare, "He can't teach, but he makes up for it with the way he jumps." I laugh, "I know that one. When we were little, I asked him how he learned to read and all he said was 'I don't know. I just read'"
"Wow, that's, uh, that's frustrating." I nod, "Yep. That was my childhood. Having an older brother figure who can't answer any of my questions because he can't explain things." Marcus chuckles, "Sounds like a great childhood." He says sarcastically.
"Anyways, you wanna head into town with me after I untack? We can head to the cafe or something." "I wish. I have to do some stuff around here, but could you bring me a Honey Citrus tea from the cafe if you go down there?" Marcus sighs and rolls his eyes, "Sure. Anything else, M'lady?" Did he just say m'lady?
"Nope, just my tea. Here's money for it and don't drink any of it." "No-" Zoe comes up to us with Raven. "Sam said to bring Raven to you." "Yeah, just out him in the round pin and could you intsck him?" "Yeah, sure." "Thanks, Zoe!" She gives me a smile and walks off.
"Alright I'm gonna untack Monty then head to the cafe get our drinks and most likely bring back some change." Marcus tells me. "Alright. Bye, Marcus." "Bye." And with that Marcus leaves and I head to the round pin to start job number two.
I walk to he round pin to see Raven unpacked and Zoe giving me a smirk. "He totally into you. Please tell me you can see that he likes you." I laugh, "Yeah, he's not too good at hiding that, is he?" She shakes her head, "You on the other hand, are pretty good at hiding your feelings, but you have your little moments." I hope I didn't start to blush when she said that. I hope no one else noticed. Correction, I hope Mark didn't notice.
"Alright Zoe, I need to start working with Raven." "So, what are you doing with Raven?" She asks, "I'm gonna try and get him used to other people working him or just trying to care for him." I explain. "Alright. I'll see you later." "Okay." With that she leaves me and Raven. Alright Raven, let's see how much trouble you are.

--Marcus's POV--

I'm walking through town and quickly arrive at the cafe to get mine and Estelle's drinks. I open the doors and I see Becky behind the counter. "Hey, Marcus." Becky says from the behind the counter, "Usual coffee?" "Ues and I need a medium Honey Citrus tea." She smiles at me, "That's what Estelle ordered yesterday. You getting it for her?" She asks teasingly, "Yes I am. Estelle had some stuff to do at the stables and she asked me if I could get her some tea." She gives me one of those 'you're pathetic' looks. "£8." I give her the money and she gives my order to the kitchen.
I sit at the table we sat at yesterday. I think of the good moments that we've had together these few days....wait, she's only been here for a day. She's been here for a day and I already have a crush on her. Maybe it was a good thing o didn't go go to the mainland for riding. Becky brings our drinks and I head back to the stables.
As I'm walking back, all I can thing about is Estelle. Her long, dark hair, and her light blue eyes and her ta...crap! I'm daydreaming so much, I walked right past the main gates. I turn around and go find Estelle.
I find her in the round pin working with a horse, a dark horse at that. As I walk closer, I see that it's Raven. She running him counter-clockwise. She brings him to a stop then takes a few steps away from him and doesn't look at him. What is she doing? Estelle was about to turn around when Raven comes walking up behind her and its his head next to her.
"Good boy, Raven." She smiles and pats him on the neck. "He seems to trust you." I say, startling her. "Oh, hey Marcus. You startled me. You think he trusts me?" "Oh yeah. The only other person he's done that to is Zoe."
She gives Raven another pat of the neck before taking him out of the pin. "Here is your tea, m'lady." "Thank you my good sir." We laugh at how immature we are. I wish this was just a simple crush, but I've really fallen for her. I've unexpectedly fallen for a French Rider.

Aaaaaanyways, I start school Monday and I will have a busy schedule, so if I don't update often I apologise now.
