Part One

It was the flashing of lights, the ear-shattering, screeching noise of metal on metal, and the loud honking of the truck that I had remembered last.

I had lost my grip on the wheel and felt very suffocated. I couldn't open my eyes anymore, but I felt my hands instinctively going to my stomach to protect my unborn child.

I could barely think... but all I thought of was praying, praying to any gods up there watching to let my baby live, to let it survive.

Please... Whoever is up there watching... please save my baby.. please.. I beg you....

My vision had long since turned dark and I felt my own slippery, wet arms encircle my enlarged stomach. I had to protect my baby.

I felt so much pain all over my body, but at the same time I was numb. Like I was floating in midair but thousands and thousands of fists were pounding on every fiber of my being.

I couldn't make sense of the situation, but I knew one thing that was going to happen, an inevitable that all those know when their time comes

The strong scent of copper hit my nose, and before I could pass the thought through my head, I completely lost consciousness. My hands that had stayed tight against me going limp.

"Miss... hear... going... okay.... baby... safe..."

"Stay... us..."

"....emergency C-section... doctor....possible..."

My ears were still ringing and I was drifting into the oblivion over and over again. One moment I was looking at bright white lights, and the next, everything was dark.
