"So, now you have four eyes," the boy from class said, Killian looked at him, "You better not even think of bothering her," Killian said, "Oh yeah?" the boy asked, "Yeah," Killian warned him, "Well now you have a girlfriend with four eyes," the boy said, Killian turned back towards Regina, then whipped around his left hook punching the boy, and he fell to the ground.

The principal saw and took Killian inside, Regina following behind. Of course they called his parents, his hand was bloody, Ava showed up, "Killian," She sighed, "Mum," Killian sighed, "What happened?" Ava asked, "He punched someone," the principal said, "They were teasing Regina about the glasses," Killian said. "I see," Ava said. "Detention, two days," the principal said, "Come on," Ava said.

They got home, Regina was looking out her window waiting for Ava's car to pull up, and she saw it and ran out the door, "Killian," Regina said, "It's ok, I got detention two days, and whatever Papa does to me," Killian winced looking up at his mother, "Well your father is fully aware of saving the day, were boys mean to you Regina?" Ava asked, "Yes, even after Killian wore the glasses when I did,"Regina said, and she couldn't help but smile about that. Killian smiled at her. Ava of course was always touched by how much they cared for each other, "Well I'm sure Killian's father won't be too angry, given the situation," Ava said.

"Goodnight Regina," Killian said, and the two bumped fists. Brennan came home, "Your son gave a boy his left hook," Ava said, "Did he?" Brennan asked with a glare to Killian, "Well, the boy called Regina four eyes," Ava said, "I see, so you saved the lady again," Brennan said, "Isn't that my job?" Killian asked, "How so?" Brennan asked, "If she's my girlfriend," Killian said, "Well, true, you are supposed to save each other," Brennan said, taking off his suit jacket. "Are you angry Papa? I got two days detention," Killian said. "Well, I don't like you fighting, you know that, but you once again had good intentions and good reasons," Brennan said.

That night, "Papa?" Killian went to his father, who happened to have his reading glasses on, "Yes, Killian, it's late, time for bed," Brennan said, "I know, I just had a question," Killian said, "What is it?" Brennan said patting next to him on the bed, "Did you ever punch or want to punch someone for being mean to mum?" Killian asked, "I did yes, a man touched your mother once, on her arm, and she didn't like that, and I punched him," Brennan admitted, "When someone is mean to Regina, I just want to hurt them," Killian said, "It just means you care about her very deeply, just try and control your temper, not everyone will fall so easily," Brennan said, "I'll never stop fighting for Regina," Killian said, Brennan smiled, "I trust that," Brennan said, "Go to bed son, little heroes need rest," Brennan said, kissing the top of his son's head.

Flashback, Killian 5 years old.

"Ow!" Killian yelled, catching Ava's attention in the playground, she rushed over, "you ok?" Ava asked, "Look Mommy's here!" A boy mocked, Killian got up, and lunged, Ava pulled him, "No," she said, "Mum! He pushed me!" Killian argued, "well revenge isn't always necessary, and I don't need you to defend me, that's your father's job," Ava smiled. "Clearly your son needs to learn some manners," Ava said to the other mother standing near her son, Killian looked up at his mother, "He has manners, your son should be tougher, and handle a joke," the mother said. Ava got an evil look in her eye, "My son was defending himself, and if your son touches my son again, I'll show you evil," she glared the woman in the eye.

Flashback, Regina 5 years old.

"And they lived happily ever after," Cora read. "Mommy, where did fairy tales come from?" Regina asked, "well they were written over centuries, people telling stories since the beginning of time, fairy tales are a reminder that our lives will get better if we just hold onto hope," Cora said. "Speaking of, where's my princess?" Henry came in from work, "Daddy!" Regina ran to him and he scooped her up and twirled her around.

Present Day

"Mum, can Regina and I go out to a movie Friday?" Killian asked. They were almost 13, in just a few weeks actually, "I suppose as long as Cora agrees and it's not rated R," Ava said. "Ask your father," Ava said. "Mum you're the queen, can't you just say yes?" Killian asked, "I do like that," Ava smiled, "he's right, you are the queen," Brennan came in, and kissed Ava's cheek and handed her flowers, "but I do like to be asked too son," Brennan winked, "but I approve," Brennan smiled, "great I'll go tell Regina," Killian said.

"You know you've still got some charm," Ava said. "I know," Brennan said tilting Ava's Apple lips up to kiss her, "if they're gone to a movie, you know what that means, for us," Brennan smirked, "Mmm," Ava moaned as he put his hands in her hair and tipped her head back to kiss her.

Friday night, Regina and Killian were dropped off by Henry at the theater, "I'll pick you up 9 pm," Henry said, the kids waved and headed inside, of course hand in hand like always. They met some other friends.

In the theater, the group of tweens sat in the back, and the moviestarted, it was Star Wars movie, and they had seen it already, Killian put hishand over Regina's, and since both were in a between phase of almost full onpuberty, the two started to feel more for each other.

They didn't really understand what was happening, but both started to feel tingly after they kissed, it was all still so innocent but they both started to feel different towards each other.

They were already through 7th grade health class, and fully aware of sex and all that, and liking boys and girls, but they didn't expect to feel so new and different to each other. Their friendship was so strong, neither wanted to mess it up. They called each other boyfriend and girlfriend but it was becoming more real now as their teens approached.

Their two closest friends at this point were David, and Mary Margaret, also girlfriend and boyfriend in tween terms. Mary Margaret was into nature and stories and it went with Regina's enjoyment of Princesses in Enchanted lands, but their personalities were so opposite, which actually just made them great friends. David and Killian were typical boys as friends, joking and teasing each other, but being really great friends. "I'm way more charming than you," David mocked, "Oh please, Regina? Who's more charming?" Killian winked at her, "Not answering," Regina teased.
