Chapter 10 - That Moment

I woke up to my bedroom being pitch black in my bedroom the only light coming from the little blinking light on my phone. I turn on my phone my eyes squinting in the bright light. It's seriously like I'm staring into the fucking sun right now. I make out the time of two in the morning and that I have a few text messages. Three from Cameron and one from Hunter. First of all I turn down my brightness to as low as it can go before opening Hunter's text message first. His text message was just letting me know that he got home safely and that if I need to talk he's always here for me. That made me feel a little bit special inside I guess. To have someone to talk to, yeah I have Cameron but I can't only talk to him for the rest of my life. Then I open the text messages from Cameron, they were just talking about how to text him if I want to talk or anything.

I really want to talk but I don't know how.. okay I know how to talk obviously but I don't want to sound like a broken record that just plays the same damn thing over and over I feel like he's just gonna be totally done with my bullshit drama and drop me just like everyone else.

I just want to have some more true friends like Hunter and not have some fake friends that would probably just use me and not actually like me for me..

I set my phone down next to me and just decided to stare up at the ceiling. I wasn't tired anymore and it's not like you can do anything at two in the morning anyways but then it hit me. Maybe just maybe I could meet Cameron somewhere or even just have him come over if he's still up. But he's probably asleep and what if I wake him up? I don't want to take him away from his sleep and everything since people need that thing called sleep.

I sighed and sat up fixing my pillows leaning against them bringing my knees to my chest just looking around my bedroom. I just feel small and worthless all the time. I just wish that I could go back in time and listen to my own advice and never go out with Luke and not risk myself of this heartbreak that I put myself through. I could have found someone better and maybe I could have found better friends or just preventing all the bad things that have happened throughout the years.

I close my eyes just trying to fight back the tears that I could feel coming to my eyes. I pulled my sweatshirt tighter around myself taking a shaky breath. Opening my eyes slowly I pick up my phone and just call Cameron. Holding my phone to my ear my hand just shaking a bit against my ear. I take shaky breaths as I wait for Cameron to answer. Hopefully he does but I'll feel bad if I'm waking him up that's when the ringing stops and his tired voice comes through.

"Hello?" He asks tiredly.

"Hey, umm it's me Jordy." I say softly into the phone.

"Oh hey Jordy, what's up?" He asks sounding a little less tired.

"Can I meet you at the park, you know the one by my house?" I ask, "I know it's really late and all but I gotta see you right now." I admit.

"Uhh yeah I can sneak out I guess." He says.

"Thank you, I'll see you in fifteen minutes?" I ask.

"Yeah see you in fifteen minutes." He says before pausing for a second. "Be careful okay?" He asks.

"Yeah I'll be careful, you be careful too." I respond back.

"Okay good I'll see you in a little while." He says before hanging up.

I pull myself out of my bed I know that I'm gonna have to be quiet if I don't want to be caught by my mom or even worse my dad. I just put on some sweatpants and a sweatshirt on. I slip on my flip flops before grabbing my car keys and phone opening my door slowly so that it doesn't creak too loudly. I walk out of my room closing the door behind me and quickly head down the stairs to the first floor of my house. I look around to see if any lights were on to see if my parents might be up.

I didn't see any lights on from what I could see and just walked out the front door quietly. Shutting the door behind me slowly before running to my car. I get into the car slowly trying to close the door as quiet as possible before turning it on. I pull out of the driveway slowly and head to the park to meet Cameron.

It takes me about five minutes to drive there and I'm the only one there. I'm just happy that the street lights are on so I'm not sitting here in complete darkness. I get out of the car and head into the park heading straight to the swings. I sit down on one of the swings, taking my phone out of my sweatpants pocket turning it on looking at the blank screen with a frown.

When I see head lights I look up and a moment later I see Cameron getting out of his car. He waves at me making me smile slightly. Cameron walks over standing in front of me. 

"Hi Cam." I say softly. 

"Hey Jordy." He says, holding his hands out to me. I take his hands and he pulls me up off the swing. 

"Thank you for meeting me so late." I say hugging him tightly. 

"I'd come to meet you no matter what time it is." He says softly, hugging me back. 

"Why are you so sweet to me?" I ask, looking up at him.

"Because why not?" He asks.

"No Cameron I want a real answer." I say with a pout. 

"I..I umm like you.." He says awkwardly.

"Wait what?" I raised an eyebrow. "Okay I think you really need sleep Cam." I chuckle quietly.

"No Jordy I really like you, I've liked you for such a long time." Cam says seriously.

"You shouldn't like me.. I'm bad luck." I say, pulling away from him slowly.

"You are not bad luck, just because Luke cheated on you that does not mean you are bad luck." He says frowning down at me.

"You don't know that." I murmur.

"I may not but I'm one hundred percent sure it's not." He says, taking my hand into his. "Luke is a dumb ass for cheating on you but I would never do that to you Jordy. You just gotta trust me." He says looking down at me.

"I don't know who I can trust anymore Cam.." I say, looking back up at him.

"If you didn't trust me you wouldn't have called me here." He says.

"Yeah, I think your right.." I admit, biting my lip softly. 

"Do you trust me? With everything.." He asks. I nod my head slowly watching him. His hand moves to my cheek, caressing my cheek before he kisses me softly. I quickly close my eyes, kissing him back softly my arms finding their way around his neck as I kissed him.
