My sister was meant to have died a total of 14 times. She was a daredevil, a rule breaker- and she didn't care who died because of it. I watched her gulp down an enormous glass of orange juice and start pouring herself some more, despite the fact she was going to finish the carton.
"Cassie you can watch me all you like but that doesn't count as doing anything with your life. You gotta get out more little sis! Live your life! Like I'm living mine!" She says bouncing up from the table and grabbing her coat from the hanger.
"It's not really your life though is it?" I muttered, looking back down to my book. Jade and I were complete polar opposites and most of the time I completely despised her.
"I'm off! See you losers later!" And with that she zoomed out of the house, no doubt running to the constant speed of whatever terrible music it was that she was always listening to. I rolled my eyes, got up to pack my bag for school."Cassie! Hurry up your going to be late!" My dad called from downstairs, anxious to get me out the house. He liked to pretend it was so I wouldn't be late for school, but I knew it was so he could invite his "secret" younger girlfriend over the moment I'd left. The trouble was he wasn't very good at keeping secrets. At this point I think even my mom knew about my dad's girlfriend, though she was at work so often it probably didn't bother her.
"I'm coming!" I ran down the stairs, somehow carrying three books in my small arms . I quickly hugged my dad goodbye, grabbed my school bag, and escaped out the front door.
