gone

the next morning I wake up somehow in my bed, alone. I for some reason feel disappointed, wishing he were with me.

I need to snap out of it, he is my best friends brother for gods sake. I decide to get ready, I have a day off of work and I want to do something. I decide to take a quick shower and put on a black Adidas sweatshirt with leggings. I put my hair up into a ponytail and add a little bit of makeup.

I decide to text Lauren because even though I see her almost every day, I still want to spend my free day with her.

I text her and ask her what she's doing and while I wait for her to reply I straighten the hair in my ponytail cause I have nothing else better to do.

Minutes later, I receive a text from Lauren. Her and I decide to hang out and go bowling, and before I know it I'm out the door and on my way to her apartment.

I find myself and the door and I start to knock. The door opens, "hey laur," I pause, "you're not Lauren," I say because for some reason, Johnny had answered the door. "What are you doing at Lauren's apartment?" I question. "Our apartment," he states very matter-of-factly. I roll my eyes "okay where is she?" I wondered. "Getting ready, apparently we're all going bowling!" He exclaims. "Yeah, Lauren and I are, not you," I scoff and walk past him into Lauren's room. "I wouldn't go in there," he retorts but I ignore him.

"Lauren," I start but pause as soon as I see she isn't alone. "Oh um hi, I'm Mackenzie," I state. I think to myself, that was awkward. "I'm Hayden," he answers and I look at Lauren with the 'explain' look on my face, meanwhile her face is bright red. "This is my best friend Hayden," she says. At this point I'm very confused, are they dating? "Are you guys like a um, thing?" I ask not knowing what to say.

They look at each other for a few seconds until Lauren answers "we're just friends," as Lauren says that I can see Hayden's face drop, but Lauren doesn't notice. "Oh okay, I'll leave you two alone," I say and walk right out of the room.

"I told you," Johnny brags. "Wow congratulations do you want an award?" I say angrily. He's wearing all white unlike yesterday where he was wearing all black, but he looks good in any color.

I need to stop! This is my best friends brother and I don't know what she would think if I told her i liked her brother.

"Are we going anytime soon?" I ask as loud as possible making sure Lauren and her 'friend' can hear me. I hear a yes from Lauren and decide to collect all my stuff and head outside.

We all decided on taking Johnny's car and because I didn't want to sit in the back with Lauren and Hayden, I had to sit up front with Johnny, which was fine with me because that meant I got the aux.

Apparently Johnny and I have a similar music taste because he seemed to like everything I played. Another perfect thing about him, I gushed.
