Forbidden Love (A Legolas x Aragorn story)

Chapter 11

ARAGORN'S POV
"Legolas, meleth?" I called out to him, removing Brego's saddle after our afternoon run. "Yes Estel?" He replied before pecking me gently on the cheek. "Have you ever thought about what you will do when I'm... gone?" I asked uncertainly. I hated the immortality that stood between us. I wished for immortality, for the first time, so we could be together forever. To my knowledge, there was no way. "More often than you could know, Estel." Legolas replied sadly. I watched him as he sighed softly before putting on a forced smile. "Never mind that now, Aragorn. Let's enjoy what we have at the moment."

Lady Galadriel had welcomed us graciously, and we had been staying in Lorién for a week now; hoping that a message from Elrond would be sent telling us that we could return. Lorién was the heart of Elfkind, and my heart was always here. At daytime we would go for rides or explore the forest; at night we would cuddle and kiss before falling asleep in each other's arms. We could not stay forever, that we knew, but we were content.

We made our way to our beautiful treehouse. It was carved intricately with swirls and other pretty patterns; the inside was equally beautiful, with a plush blue sofa and bed, of which if you looked closely, was threaded with strands of gold.

I flopped down onto the sofa and pulled Legolas beside me before snuggling into his arms. Even though I was a fully grown man I still enjoyed a good cuddle.

"Aragorn? Did we make the right decision?" Legolas asked me. My fave grew grave. "I don't know," I replied, playing absentmindedly with his hair. "But I have faith that Elrond will find whoever sent the letter and we will be able to return to Rivendell soon."

He sighed and and snuggled into my chest. We stayed there for a while before I realized that Legolas was asleep; I picked him up gently and placed him in our bed. "Goodnight, meleth." I said softly before placing a kiss on his forehead before settling down to sleep beside him.

It's short again but I haven't updated for a while so oh well :)
