My yellow eyes widen as Leo growls. "Leo I know you want to help Aries but she will only hurt you more" I mutter as Aries gets beaten by our owner, Karen Lilica. "I can use my own magic to take her place" he said with a determined glare. I look at him blankly. "Do as you wish, just be careful" I say quietly as I look out at the meadow we were sat in. I sigh as a golden aura surrounds him and he disappears to the human world.
(One week later)

I sigh as Karen calls me to the human world. "Yes mistress" I say coldly as I look away disinterested. I grunt as I feel a sharp pain in the left side of my face. I glare up at her and see she's holding some sort of stick. "Leo the lion refuses to go back to the spirit world unless I stop abusing Aries. I will beat you to make him surrender." Karen says with a sadistic grin. I gasp as I feel he heel of her shoe digging into my stomach. "No stop!" I cry out as she puts more weight on the foot that's holding me down. Tears flow freely from my face as she hits me over and over again. At my final breaking point I scream out a name that I know will help me. "Leo!" I scream at the top of my lungs knowing that the ruins he is in are close. "Stupid cow. Did I say you could shout!?" Karen shouts as she hit me again. The hit was so powerful it sent me flying across the room and into the wall.

"Jinx!" Leo says as he kicks down the door. He runs over to me and crouches by my side. I look up at him and smile. "I knew you would help me..." I say weakly. I move slightly and scream a little as pain shoots through my body.

Karen laughs at the sight of us. "Leo, this is what happens when you defy me. Return to the spirit world or I will kill her" she says with a grin. I turn to the leader of the zodiacs. "Don't do it. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Leo stand up to her, don't worry about me" I say weakly. He looks down at me with sadness in his eyes. "I can't do that. I can't ignore how you feel, your my friend." He says softly to me. "It's obvious that she won't break our contracts. My magic energy is draining and these wounds aren't helping." I say as I raise my hand to hold his. Leo looks down to cover his face and takes a deep breath. He look up and glares at our owner. "I will go back to the spirit world. Only to heal her then I will return to the ruins" Leo said with a determined look in his angered eyes. "Leo..." I mumble as black spots cover the edge of my vision. I growl lowly and slowly get to my feet. "Karen, you will pay for what you've done..." I say with a glare as I finally manage to stand without Leo's help. My eyes widen slightly as everything turns black. The last thing I hear is a gasp before I fully go unconscious.
(3 months later)

"Open! Gate of the lunar wolf! Jinx." I hear Karen call out. I sigh as I go to the human world. I look over at Karen and see she's close to falling over. "Mistress you have used up too much magic energy. You could die" I say while walking over to her. "What are you doing? You need to attack that thing. We need to finish this job" Karen shouted out and pointed behind me. I turn and see that there is a hooded figure with a celestial spirit in front of her. "You took on a job even though Leo is out. You won't be able to keep me out here for long mistress" I say in shock 'she must've been desperate for money if she took on a job like this' I think with a frown on my face. Suddenly Karen falls to the floor. "Take Aries, Leo's and your keys and run. The contract is terminated" she whispered and my eyes widen in shock. I take my key, Aries key, and Leo's key and run back to Leo. I use up my magic to get to Leo as I know Karen doesn't have enough magic energy to keep me in the human world.
...
"Leo" I call out as I run to the ruins. I run through the door and fall to my knees panting for breath. "Leo... it's Karen... she said that she terminated the contract... and to take your keys and run." I say breathlessly. He looks at me with wide eyes. "I couldn't stop her" I said as I look at the ground. "She took a job knowing that she couldn't summon another spirit. She summoned me told me to fight but ended up falling. She used the last of her powers. Leo I don't think she made it" I say as tears begin flowing down my face. My wolf ears are pinned back and my hole body is shaking. My long tail is laying on the floor limply.

"Shhh. Don't cry" he said while kneeling in front of me. I look up at him before throwing my body forward and into his arms. He tenses for a second but wraps his arms around my waist. My hands ball into fists, griping tightly onto the shirt he's wearing. I bury my head in his chest as I cry and my tail wraps around his waist. I feel one of his hands leave my lower back and seconds later I feel a gentle hand on the top of my head. "We haven't gone back to the spirit world yet. When a contract is ended with a wizard then they are instantly sent back to the celestial world. So why haven't we been sent back?" He questions.

Suddenly the world around us turned black and the celestial spirit king appears in front of our hugging figures. "You have broken the celestial laws. And therefore you are banned from the spirit world for eternity. You may quickly say goodbye to your friend Aries but after that you will have no more contact with the celestial spirit world." The king said and Aries appears in front of us.

"Hey Aries, I'm sorry you got caught up in this mess" Leo said with a sigh. I get out of Leo's grip and run to Aries. "Your free now. The punishment is worth your freedom." I say as Leo walks over to us. He hugs us both "Aries, here's your key. We will miss you" I say before turning around and walking away.
...
"We should stay together now that we can't go back." Leo says as he stands behind me a few feet back. "We need to change our name too so that we aren't recognised. Loke and... Ashley." I say as I turn to face him. He nods and smiles sadly at me. I keep my face expressionless as I watch him carefully. "There's no point staying here for any longer" I say in a monotone voice.
