[NOTE: Siwon is pronounced 'Shee-won']
Chapter One.
I raced down the hill, forgetting all my thoughts. I pedaled harder and all my troubles were blowln away behind me as I raced ahead. That feeling went away as I saw a squirrel about to run in front of me. Quickly, I steered to the right and lost balance, tumbling onto the ground. My backpack flew off and I lost consciousness.
The first thing I noticed were his eyes. They were dark brown, almost black, but there was nothing dark about them. His eyes seemed to emit a light. They were so pure, as if you could actually see into his soul.
“Are you okay?” The man with the pure eyes said. I blinked a couple of times and focused on his face.
His skin was completely smooth, besides the wrinkles around his mouth created by a concerned frown. I sat up quickly and looked around. A jab of pain rushed to my head. It felt like someone was stabbing the back of my neck with a million needles. I winced and placed my hand on my head. The man crouched down and looked at me with concern. I felt a blush rise to my face when I suddenly realized how stupid I seemed.
“Can you talk?” He asked, placing a hand softly on my cheek. My heart pounded and I cleared my throat.
“Yes, I was just in shock.” I said quickly.
“I looks like you got bruised quite a bit from that fall.” He gingerly placed his fingers on the bruises on my cheek bone and my eye. The memories flooded back and tears flooded to my eyes. Sadly, those bruises weren't from the accident. He quickly wiped my tears and helped me to my feet. I let out a small yelp as I put pressure on my foot. He quickly held on to me to stop me from falling over.
“I hope your ankle isn't broken. Do you remember twisting it?”
“All I remember was trying to avoid hitting a squirrel or something.” I said, unable to remove my gaze from his eyes. I wiped the tears from my eyes and took my hair out of a ponytail. He gazed back at me for a moment and then looked away with a strange expression on his face.
“Do you think we can walk to that bench-I mean hop,” I say, stumbling over my words. He nodded and sat you down on the bench, examining your ankle.
“Can you move your toes?” He asked. I nodded.
“Then its probably just a sprain.” He assured me. I let out a deep breath.
“Thank you so much for your help, …..”
“Siwon.” He told me.
“Siwon.” I repeated the name, getting used to it's foreign sound.
“Thanks Siwon, I'm Christina.” I flashed him a cute smile. Then I realized how horrible I must look. My clothes were covered in dirt and my hair was in a mess. Siwon noticed me frantically fix my hair and chuckled. I really liked his laugh.
“Don't worry, you look fine.” He said, his eyes twinkling. I noticed a slight accent when he spoke.
“Okay, sure..but I should be heading home now.” Home. I didn't really have a place to call home, but it came out anyways.
“Let me help you to your house then.” Siwon said, standing up and tucking my bike under his one arm like it was nothing. I looked at his muscles bulging under his shirt and felt my face blushing again. I cleared my throat and looked down.
“No its fine.” I stood up and then right away regretted saying those words. Siwon must have seen the look of pain on my face because he set down the bike and rushed to my side.
“Can't I just carry you? I insist!” He said strongly. I looked at his face again and tried to maintain my pride. We probably wouldn't meet again, and I wasn't sure if I was ready to trust anyone again. But the moment I looked into his eyes, I had a feeling that maybe I could trust him.
He will hurt you. I said to myself.
“Its fine, it doesnt hurt that much,” I lied, “My dad will take care of it.”
Another lie.
I slung my backpack over my shoulder and limped off, rolling my bike along the pavement next to me. I didn't know where I was going, but I hoped that Siwon wanted to meet me again as much as I did. Maybe someday I could tell him the truth.
