A dragon ran across the forest floor, rustling bushes and making the early morning dew fall from them. He jumped over a creek and landed on the other side. A twig snapped behind him and a shiver went down his spin. I'm being followed, he thought nervously.

He pasted under a low hanging branch and brushed it with his wings. He paused and grabbed the branch with his front talons. Pulling himself up, he climbed until the early morning sun cascaded over his scarlet scales, tinting them orange, yellow and pink.

The top of the trees looked like a never ending green sea that seemed to wave and whisper to him. Jade Mountain cast a shadow on him that was more dragon like than mountain like. As he looked closer, the tree tops weren't whispering or waving at him, it was a camouflaged RainWing.

"Run,"it hissed as he opened his wings to take off. "Too slow,"it hissed again as invisible talons tied a chain around his wings. It grabbed his mouth with unseen talons and threw him down to the ground.

He laid there in shock, then tried to run. Inviable talons crashed into his back and held a disk to his throat. The RainWing bent over him, shifting her scales to reveal her face.

"Princess Sunflower?"He said, trying to process this strange thing.

She leaned into his ear and whispered,"we don't want you telling your queen about me, now do we?" And that was the last thing he heard before pain seared through him and he was dragged up the mountain.

Up north in the Ice Kingdom, a dragon ran through the halls of the IceWing palace. She took a sharp right and scattered snow from the nearby window. She pasted a room with two sleeping dragons in it. She paused them knocked on the door way and continued running.

It's going to hatch with out me, cried her frantic brain. She pasted another window, and backtracked to it. She climbed onto the sill and leaped into the air. She flew until outside the palace walls and courtyard. She swooped down and landed on the snow.

Snowflakes fell, making a light dusting of white on her pale silver scales. She waded through the snow to a pale blue egg hidden from the eyes of dragons. Cracks were seen all around it, and ever so slowly they started to widen.

She heard wing beats in the distance, but didn't look away from her egg. She walked around it then sat down again. What is taking her so long? She thought as a pale blue dragon landed beside her.

"Did I miss anything, Iceshine?"He asked.

Iceshine looked the egg. "No, it's just sitting there."

Two other dragons landed behind her, and watched from a distance. Once they landed, the egg's cracks got bigger, and bigger, until the walls fell away and a moon silver dragon was left with pale blue scales shaped like moons by her eyes.

Iceshine reached out her talons and let the dragonet clamber onto them. There was something special about this dragonet, she was sure of it.

Her husband leaned over her shoulder."What should we name her?"He asked.

She looked at the dragonet, then at the one of three moons left in the night sky."Silver Moon,"she replied."Welcome to the Ice Kingdom."

Iceshine and her husband hugged the dragonet while their other two watched from behind, an ice blue IceWing and a pale gray and white dragoness.

The dragoness leaned towards her brother."What should we do about that accident?"She whispered.

Her brother shrugged."I don't know, but she could be your greatest enemy, Opal. She could steal the throne from you."

Opal nodded."So, what's the plan? Should we..."she trailed off with a mischievous grin on her face that her brother wanted to smack off.

He looked over at their parents, they seemed happier with their new dragonet than with their preexisting ones. He worked his talons into the deep snow."No, I don't even think she will amount to anything. Look at her, she'll never be queen."

Opal spun her claw into the snow."So, what your saying is that she would never kill mom, she is too attached to her, am I right, Polar?"

Polar nodded."Lets have some fun, shall we?"

Opal nodded and swept her wings around her so snow flew up and concealed their take off. Iceshine turned around and saw two in prints of where two five year old dragons were sitting, and a cloud of snow settling down back into place.

She held Silver Moon close to her chest as she and her husband flew back home."I was really hoping they would get to see their new sister,"she whispered.

Her husband flew close to her."I'm sure they would love to, but they probably tiered from yesterday's hunting trip."He didn't want to tell her what he had heard them taking about in their room. They were talking about possibly killing their new sibling.

Iceshine nodded, trying to convince herself too."You are probably right, Frost. I'm probably just over reacting."She laughed a tiny laugh, then landed onto their porch and set Silver Moon into her bed.

Frost came up behind her and wrapped his wing around her."I'm sure we won't mess this one up."

Iceshind leaned on his shoulder."I hope not,"she whispered.
