Growing up even if I had nothing else, I always had my parents. Both of them. They loved each other and it felt as if nothing could ever split them up, and I couldn't imagine it any other way.
As usual my mom had the radio blaring on the way back home. She usually didn't make it this loud unless she was really happy, or really pissed off.
"Mom!" I swear if I had to scream any louder I swear i would have lost my voice.
She looks over and smiles, "Sorry sweetie. I'm just excited because your dad promised me he would take me somewhere special for our anniversary tomorrow." As opposed to there usual homemade meal and Netflix.
"Yeah, that's great mom but can you be excited with out busting my eardrums." We both half laughed but I was being half seriouse.
I really think he has a surprise for me tonight to." She looked over to make sure i was still paying attention. "When I was leaving earlier I saw a blue mini van driving down egg road."
We live out in the middle of nowhere. 45 minutes from the closest store, and we have no houses for 3 miles behind us, so if your on this road your more than likely going to my house.
Pulling into our driveway we see the blue minivan. My mom looked over at me and smiled like a teenager before getting out of the car. I was excited for her to. It had been awhile since her and dad had been out somewhere nice.
As we walked into the house we could both hear quick movement upstairs as if someone was rushing. Mom got a little more excited, so I started to walk to the kitchen so dad could do hee surprise without me in the way.
All of a sudden I hear my mom screaming at my dad and when I turn around all I see is my mom start crying and a short skinny blond run out the door.
