Hey guys! I'm rewriting The Seven In High School, so enjoy! :)

PIPER
"-made me proud, young demigods. For even we, the mighty Olympians, the chosen strongest of all our brothers and fathers, could not have defeated those... trash on our own, and so we have decided to..."
Zeus's voice echoed through the throne room, making the floor tremble with every word he spoke. None of the other Olympians nor Hades, who had been given a honorary seat beside Hestia's hearth, seemed to mind much, but Piper and the rest of the Seven and a few more prominent allies struggled to keep themselves upright.
She vaguely felt Jason's hand squeeze her hand tranquilly, as if to ask if she were alright and still balancing, and she gripped his [sort of sweaty] hand back in response. Her eyes were still focused at the gods and goddesses, but she could feel her boyfriend's warm breath on her neck.
Piper blushed at the thought. Stop it, she told herself. No. Concentrate on what the deities are saying. Concentrate. Concentrate. Concentrate. Concentrate...
"-and therefore, I swear to the River Styx to uphold my promises. Now, what will you choose?"
Huh?
She glanced up again to see scary blue pupils burning holes to her left, and followed them to glance at an equally terrifying Annabeth. Nobody had really known what really happened in Tartarus, but the daughter of Athena had changed in so many ways since the horrifying experience. Her calculating grey eyes seemed dull and empty, and the curly blond hair Piper had once been so envious of were bland and colorless.
Annabeth's face stayed stony (which looked kind of freaky as the light source was from behind her). "A normal, human life without Aphrodite interfering to mess anything up. Or Mom, or Poseidon, or anybody who freaking disapproves of whatever I'm doing. Is that too much to ask for?" Percy's arm froze from rubbing his girlfriend's back comfortingly, and everybody else stealthily stole glances at the gods to see their reaction.
Poseidon looked pointedly at Zeus, who glanced questionably at Athena, who stared irritably at Aphrodite, who turned to face Annabeth and laughed. It was light and carefree, like those metal wind chimes that blew in the wind. Out of the blue, Piper wondered if her laugh sounded like that, too.
"Oh, my precious, precious Annabeth. Of course you would ask that, especially after-" the love goddess stopped abruptly, as if she had said something she wasn't supposed to. "Oh dear, sorry. Now, what was it about no godly interference?"
Athena waved her hands dramatically. "I think you know exactly what my daughter means, Aphrodite. After all, you were the one that started this mess in the first place."
"Ah yes," the goddess nodded sagely. "Unfortunately, it is impossible to give you a life with no messing around from me and the rest of the gods-" she tittered, as if there was some inside joke the demigods didn't understand, "-but, I can promise you that you'll get your happy ending with Percy. After all, there's been enough drama with your past lovers, haven't you?"
Annabeth didn't say anything, but there was a rapid fluttering of eyelashes as the daughter of the wisdom goddess thought about Aphrodite's offer. Slowly, so slight that if Piper wasn't paying rapid attention to her friend she would have missed it, she nodded.
"Alright then, if that's settled," Poseidon interrupted good-humouredly, waving a casual hand around his trident, "Percy, since you turned down the god's generous gift of immortality last time, we would like to-"
