It was early in the evening when the owl awoke and was upset. He was bored and lonely. No one wanted to be his friend, and they made fun of his small size. This little owl was tired of being lonely and picked on. So, he spread his wings and started flying through the woods in search of a friend.
It wasn't too far from where the owl was that the wolf pup had the same problem. Only the wolf pups problem wasn't due to his size, but the colour of his fur. It wasn't his fault that his fur was a different colour. He wanted a friend, so had started walking through the woods.
The wolf pup did not walk very far before the little owl flew right into him!
"I'm so sorry!" The little owl said, getting up. "I wasn't paying attention."
"That's ok." The wolf pup said. "I wasn't either."
"Well I have to go now." The little owl said. "You see, I am looking for a friend."
He was about the fly away when the wolf pup stopped him.
"I am looking for a friend too." The wolf pup said. "So, will you be my friend."
"YES!" The little owl said excited.
So, that was the night that he wolf pup and the little owl learned that no matter how different you are, there is always a friend somewhere, just right for you.
