Chapter 1
It was a dreadful day, The worst type of dreadful day too. The kind that made you feel sad and had rain pooling around your feet. A feeling of aprehension hung sullen in the dense air, as if the world was preparing itself for a tradgedy to occur. It seeped into the minds of everyone inhabitating the castle leaving them jumpy and anxious. Me I hardly noticed the difference. I have been living in fear since the day I was born. However today felt different. Something big was going to happen today. I felt it in my bones. However I was too busy trying desperatly to keep the water away from my clothing and bedsheets that i had no time to wonder about what was different. That was until an unknown guard burst into my room, or rather prison and somewhat forcefully dragged me to a hole in the wall. From there he gagged me, tied my hands up, and lead me deep into the earth. Besides the smell of the soil that kept my food alive, I had not smelt earth in many years . The scent filled my mind and pictures of fairies and nature began to fill my mind. The leaves seemed to dance on the wooden branches of the trees, beckoning me. Thier voices sang an unearthly tune that swam around me, pulling me towards the smells. I wanted nothing more but to take off the blindfold and finally see the greens of the things that i had not seen in so long. My heart ached for the sun and the feeling of water and rain envolpoing me in the soft downy tears of the heavens. I guess the world did not wish for my happiness, for the guard soon pulled me into a room that smelled of fermented grapes and a sick unwashed smell. I knew this smell.
Once when i was young, before the guard had found me and i had layed in an unwashed sniveling pile of rags and bones. A man came close to my prison. He sat down on the little peephole that i had. I remeber knowing somehow that this man was bad. I had silently made my way over to the wall, dragging my helpless body. I smelt him before hearing him, it was an unwashed smell and it reeked of fermented grapes. He was talking loudly, slurring his words, and there was a woman there with him. She too, slurred her words and smelt of the grapes. i didnt understand the words they spoke but i soon heard the man get off my peephole and soon i heard the slip of clothing from skin... I didn't sleep much after that.
I started to shiver at the thought. Horrorfied and mentally traumatizatized by the memory. Suddenly the man started shouting at me in a gruff voice.
"Move It Girl!!!!"
"This aint a damn teaparty, so move your lazy fat ass!"
"The misstress aint gonna be pleased that you took so damn long. If you want to keep that life of yours id be rushing my ass, SO MOVE!!!"
He started to hit me. Beating me until i was running blindly stumbling. Everycrack in the floor i slipped on, i was beaten harder. I was so tired. I fell again. I felt a sharp pain between my shoulder blades. I struggled to get up. Another pain. I fell to the ground.
"Get up bitch!"
I tried again. Again i fell down and was rewarded with a sharp pain in my back. I lay there breathing hard. Soon i heard the sound of a knife being unsheathed and deadly calm voice saying.
"You leave me no choice..."
Panicked i struggled hard agaisnt my bonds. I heard him laugh. Suddenly i felt a tearing pain in my thigh. I screamed through my gag. Still laughing the man picked me up and beat me again till i was stumbling blindly around. My leg ached. Tears ran down my face as i slipped and fell on the floor time after time again. Every time a sharp crack between my shoulder blades made me whimper. I was so tired I thought to myself as I collapsed again. My eyes started to close and the world became a fuzzy haze that drifted in and out of focus. I vaguely felt the pain between my shoulder blades and heard the mad voice of my tormentor. It didn't matter, not anymore. Where I was going the light would not hurt anymore...
