On a day when the wind was strong and the sky was gray it probably wasn't the best of days to be outside hunting down a lost cat but what was one to do when you Aunts cat was lost. The young girl was searching high and low for the cat and even though cats weren't her favorite she still loved it. The young girl was about to give up all hope she heard the smallest of noises. The young girl ran towards the sound praying that she had finally found her cat.

The sound was coming from an old abandoned well that had been dry for years. No one had used that well since the turn of the century and the young girl was certain the well had been sealed so how could a cat be down there. Much to her surprise and shock the young girl found the well was in fact not blocked but wide open with water at the bottom and there standing on the only dry part of the well was her cat.

"You stupid cat! How many times have I told you not to wonder off. Do you know how worried Kathy is?!" yelled the young girl at the cat. While she yelled she tried everything she could to find something to help get the cat out of there without going down there on her own.

"I should just leave you down there and buy her a new cat. this one obviously never listens," grumbled the girl as she threw the bucket over the top of the rod that was attached to the two pulls on either side of the well. The young girl had found the bucket and rope around the other side of the well. When the bucket was at the end of the rope it was close enough to the cat if only it jumped but for some reason the cat and other ideas and sat down. It was almost as if saying it would not jump. The young girl sighed and leaned forward on the tip of her toes trying to get the bucket to touch the ground.

"A little more and you would have gladly provide that cat with some company though I doubt you would have survived the fall," A voice stated behind the young girl causing the young girl to almost fall into the well if it weren't for the strangers hands wrapped around her waist. "My my, what a troublesome little girl whatever will I do with you," the stranger said right next to her ear causing a shiver to run down her spin and her hands to become clammy.

20 years earlier

A strange creature cloaked in black walked with quick steps threw the now dark streets. The only things lighting the way was the occasional street lamp that had a tendency to flicker so often they werent much help to the humans that lived in this town.

Lucas however was no such human he was sent on a task for the underworld which he was determined to complete in a timely manner his wife was a very ill tempered person and did not like to be late. Lucas wife Kathy was a noblewoman in their society which led to both of them being highly respected in their community. For a demon it was easy to stay out of the humans way especially if you could disguise as one. To the human eye Lucas was non other than a hansom man with dark brown hair and black eyes that sparked. In reality Lucas was a demon among demons he had five horns and long black hair. He was the right hand man to the king and did anything the king asked of him. As Lucas walked down the street he heard footsteps running off to his right. Curiosity got the best of him as he followed the footsteps down an alleyway.

When Lucas had caught up to the man he say the man carrying a bundle of blankets in his hands when the man finally noticed another presence behind him the man dropped the bundle running for its life the bundle never touched the ground though because lucas stopped it right before it touched the ground. A small cry came from the bundle and grew louder as the young girl woke up. Lucas was so shocked the demon had dropped a baby he didnt know what to do. All he could do was stand there and listen to the young baby cry.

When everything finally clicked the demon became angry and would have destroyed the other man if the baby in front of lucas drew most of his anger away. Lucas bet down to pick up the young girl and decided to bring the girl home. Him and his wife couldnt have children of his own and since this one was abandoned he would take her home. He vowed that he would find the monster that abandoned this girl in the dark of night to die alone.

Lucas abandoned his task and set off for home to get this baby in a warm place before she froze to death. He could tell the girl was a human about 8 months olds. As he walked home Lucas noticed the young girl had quieted the second he had picked her up. She stared at him with a smile on her face. She was so cute any hate Lucas held towards her care taker was diminished with that smile.

"Lucas what took you so long! We are going to be late you know? We dont have time for you to dilly dally," Rambled Kathy looking for her other shoe. Lucas laughed while grabbing his wife around her waist. Stopping her wandering. The baby was safely in his other arm sleeping close to his chest.

"If you would calm down for two second you would see I brought you a present sweetheart," whispered Lucas into his wifes ear kissing her temple.

"Present?!" questioned Kathy finally slowing down at looking at her husband. It took a minute for her to notice the baby in his arm but when she did her face instantly brightened up. "Where did you find this cutie at?! Yelled Kathy getting excited.

"Some demon left her in the cold so I decided to bring her back for you," said Lucas trying to control his demon side that reared to get out. His wife didn't notice his anger but instead focused on the little girl in front of her.

"We get to keep her right Lucas?!"

"Of course Love. She has no home so from now on she is ours," whispered Lucas into his wife's ear holding her close to him loving the way she felt in his arms. "Now lets go to this party," Started Lucas with a smirk on his lips. Before Kathy even had a chance to protest Lucas phased both of them to the King's house where the party would be held. By the time they arrived Kathy had the little baby in her arms making faces at the young baby. The young girl just gurgled and smiled at her new mother. She was a well behaved baby who hadnt once made as if to cry out.

"Lucas Honey you aren't even in your party clothes and what about the gifts?!" Yelled Kathy freaking out about all they had left. Lucas just laughed and kissed his wife. While he kissed her Lucas changed clothes and the gifts arrived with their servants. "See honey there was nothing to worry about everything is perfect."

"What about the baby though shes not dressed for the party and we dont have any clothes for her," questioned Kathy once again freaking out, to which lucas just laughed to but before he could change the baby's clothes they began to change on their own. She was dressed in a green dress with a stargazer lily in her hair.

"Well well look at that it would seem we have a little witch on our hands sweetheart," Lucas stated with pride in his voice. He had already fallen in love with the girl and was excited for her to be part of the family. "Well I guess it is time to name her sweetheart what should her name be?"

"Oh Lucas she is perfect. Her name should tell the world about her so let's name her Lilith Fae Sirius." Kathy stated with a bright smile on her face.

"Sounds perfect love lets head inside then shall we?" Said Lucas as he lead his wife inside.

Lucas and Kathy has never had last names in the demon world they were known by their titles but when they decided to take in a little baby girl they inherited the name Sirius for their whole family. Even the demon world would acknowledge their name change because of the tattoos that formed on Lucas and Kathy's wrists. It showed the world who this little girl belonged to and what the family's name was. This is what happens in the demon world when a family was formed.

Kathy and Lucas had their own tattoo the moment they got married and became a noble family who were known as the assassins because that was their title in the kingdom but now their name had changed and with it their tattoo. Lilith didn't form a tattoo on her wrist because even though she was part of the family her family tattoo would go on her wrist so her family name appeared on the left collar bone. Since this was a magical thing Lilith didn't even know it appeared which meant no fussing for the new parents.
