" Scarlett Pine, do you have any idea how much I love you?" I felt a warm blush creep onto my face. " How much?" I ask him, looking up at him. " Well, look up at the stars." He instructed me. I laughed and looked up. The millions of stars shone like diamonds in a wall of coal. "Okay? " I whispered. " Now, count them." I looked at him, my mouth open in a shocked smile. "I can't! Theres too many!" I laughed. He smiled and looked into my eyes. " That's your answer. Too much." My eyes slowly brimmed with happy tears, and I nodded quickly. " That's a perfect amount."

CHAPTER 1

I might seem like the kind of girl who is quiet and relaxed, who likes to stay home a lot. Like the kind of girl who doesn't care what other people think about me. Well, if you are thinking that, I need to correct you. I love going out to parties and to the mall with my friends. I ABSOLUTELY care what other people think about me, and if they say something bad about me, it usually almost ends up in violence.

Some people like to say I'm " bad " , But I consider myself a rebel. I don't listen to rules. I don't do my homework. I have detention at least four times a week, but I usually end up going about once a week. Oh well. Someday they'll realize that I'm just not going to show up. Then they can stop giving me detention slips.

At school, we have a group made up by people like me, just for people like me. Some people (usually jealous people) say that we're just punk weirdos, but we actually call ourselves the rebels. I truly believe I was born to be a rebel.

Us rebels usually hang out with the group of jocks, just because they don't call us punk weirdos. No one in particular really catches my eye, except one boy. Carter Swartz. He came from some German or Dutch country, but any reminisce of his accent has dissolved. His heart is really sweet, but that's not what makes him attractive. His features do. Now, I know, that's not a very good way of judging someone, but he, and when I say this I'm not exaggerating, he is HOT.
