First Day Back (Its Taboo)

Hey Guys!!! I'm back from a long break off of Wattpad! I'll be here to stay, I don't know how long but for a while. Anyways, enjoy my first Harry Potter Fanfic!

   "And I presume I'll be sitting next to this filthy little mudblood again this year?"

   I turned around in my desk to see the one and only Draco Malfoy strutting down the classroom isle. Once again, after 4 years, to sit on my right in Charms Class.

   Ever since first year at Hogwarts, Draco and I have sat by each other in Charms Class because of our unfortunately close last names. My name is Violet Malani, too close to Malfoy huh?
And if you didn't hear I am a Muggle. I am someone who has completely normal, non wizard parents, but I was special. I had the ability to portray magic. The same as my best friend Hermione Granger, who is also Muggle born.

   My thoughts were disrupted by a loud bang of Draco dropping his 4 mandatory textbooks on the desk. The Standard Book of Spells, Achievements in Charming, Quintessential and Chaswick's Charms. I looked up at Draco with a glare.

   "Someone grumpy today, Muggle?" He snapped at me.

   "Someone have a stick up their ass, Malfoy?" I replied with a sarcastic tone and a fake smile. I heard Hermione giggle behind be at my comeback and I turned around to look at her. She gave me a thumbs up.

   "Two Muggles against one pure blood...now that's a joke!" Draco sat down next to me with a snicker. I was about to say something else but class has started.

   "Today students," Professor Flitwick said up on his pedestal, "We will be learning the Incendio charm. The charm to set objects ablaze."

   Hermione and I laughed since the two of us had already mastered that spell because we always like to be ahead of the game. We've almost mastered 3/4 of the charms in the Standard Book of Spells anyways.

   "You will be practicing this charm with your peer sitting next to you. Read the Do's and Don'ts on page 238 in the Standard Book of Spells, now get to work students!" Flitwick hopped off his pedestal and shuffled to his desk. I huffed and turned my attention to Draco, who had his attention on Crabbe and Goyle.

   "Ahem, Malfoy," I tapped him on the shoulder, "You have to work on this spell."

   Draco gazed at me over his shoulder with his piercing gray eyes, "What do you mean by me?"

   "Well, I've already mastered this charm as a matter of fact, so it's up to you to learn it today."

   He chuckled and turned around, "Prove it Muggle...I bet I could get it first try!"

   I got my wand out and prepared for the Incendio spell.

   "Do that paper bird trick you do," I ordered Draco. He confidently blew a graceful paper bird out of the palm of his hands and into the air.

   "Incendio!" I commanded. In a second the little paper bird was light on fire and floating to the floor in flames.
I noticed Flitwick look up from his desk and the book he was reading.

   "Well done Ms. Malani!" He called. I smiled at him, then at Draco.

   "Your turn pal." I uttered. He blew another bird from his hands and chanted the spell. The only thing received was a little spark from the end of his wand.

   "First try huh Malfoy? You better practice or you're going to fail Charms class." I said with a smile and a flutter of my eyelashes. Draco scoffed at me and flew at least another 7 birds into the air until he succeeded at the spell. 

   "7th times a Charm?" I questioned.

   Draco looked up at me and returned me a fake smile, "Aren't you funny, Muggle!"
