Can a moment in time be held?
Can it be weighed?
Or will you let it swell?
An ace in the deck
a heartbeat on the side,
a harlot
a queen,
a pagan mystified.
Drowning
the fleeting,
the holy and the blessed
the cherished,
the scorned
the meek and all the rest.
Did you make it to the clouds?
The Sky of Judas' glee,
he paved the way in silver and tongues;
a tender noose and the seed.
And as you waste
all your daggers and cloaks,
find lips to share a kiss
mindful of the crown,
a blade to clear your throat.
On a walk with Judas
where the fearful chose to reside,
you may waste your prayers in the sand
but at least you can say you tried.
