I got to Josh's house, and we decided to take his dog for a walk. His dogs name was literally the most iconic, Max. Josh held his leash, considering he got excited on walks.
"So, was your first day of senior year good?" I laughed asking.
"Eh, could have been better."
"Well, last first day of school for us! Unless we fail..." He laughed at my little joke.
"How bout you? Was your day good?"
"It just felt long. But now we only have 179 days to go!" I said. Our school requires 180 days of learning.
"Great!!" He said in an excited sarcastic voice.
"And not to mention applying for colleges this year." I laughed.
"Even better." He moaned.
"Yeah." I said in reply.
We walked silently for a few steps, after we finished that conversation. Then he came in with the topic I knew he wanted to know about. And of course, it was my relationship with Ross...
"So, that dude?" I looked at him, ready to correct the word dude. "Mr. Ross Lynch." He said in a fancy voice, I smiled at him for correcting it.
"What about him?"
"I just don't get it."
"What..?" I said confused.
"You were only there for two weeks? And you got a long term boyfriend? I was talking to Jenna and she said you were in the hospital too?! What the hell Blair?" He was getting all defensive.
"Okay. One, watch your language mister! Two, I got injured in a water park and hit my head so had to go to the hospital. Three, I told you at lunch, Ross and I just happened!"
"Sorry." He sighed a bit. "But, you just met him..."
"I don't know how it happened okay? And whether it works out or not, I am with him for the moment."
"Why not date someone you know?"
"Alright." I stopped walking, causing him also to stop. "Why are you so jealous?" Dangerous question, but you have to take chances I guess.
"I'm not." He looked away.
"You're lying."
"No I'm not."
"You looked away."
"So..?"
"That's a sign of lying." I said as if proving it scientifically
"Who said that? Lying 101?" He chuckled.
"Leah said you liked me." I said, kind of regretting it after I said it. Why did I say that? His face went blank, no idea what to say next. "Sorry..."
He just stared at the ground for a while. Max sat down panting. Josh ran his hand through his hair, then looks back up at me.
"Well...that's cuz I do like you. I did like you. I don't know okay." He said awkwardly. "But I guess I'm too late.." He said to himself, not actually wanting me to hear it, but I did. "And yeah, I guess I am a bit jealous...I mean, look at that guy then look at me. I'm kind of nothing..."
"You are not." I looked ahead of us. "Cmon, keep walking." We started walking again.
"Sorry. This is just a weird conversation." He said.
"It's fine, I've been in worse." I sighed. "And I'm sorry, I kind of invaded your privacy..."
"It's fine...i was probably a bit obvious about it anyways."
"Just maybe not talk about this to other people...?" I said.
"Yeah..."
"Good."
"Good." He restated.
"I guess I should go home...I have to make a call, and my dad will be coming home soon."
"Alright. I can walk back with you?"
"Sure." I smiled at him. I actually felt super bad about this conversation. I feel like I just about ripped his heart out! And he is one of my best friends! Ugh... "Look, I don't want anything to change between us, alright? I love having you as a friend, but nothing more than that for now."
"Of course! This might make things awkward...but yeah." He laughed a bit. We arrived at my house.
"Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow." I laughed a little.
"Yeah! Bye then..!" He smiled then hurried away. I would hurry away from that conversation too.
I walked inside and sat down at a chair near the door. Blair...what the heck was that? I got up and went to my room, just sitting there thinking about all that had just gone down. I stopped thinking about it and grabbed my phone to call Ross, like I said I would. I just was hoping now that not too much drama would come from this...
