"I beg your pardon?!" the Zircon quickly said. "Who?!!" The Quartz, slowly and hesitantly, summoned her weapon (a large axe) and was about to destroy the tablet towering over them.
"No, no, no! Wait, this a crucial piece of evidence. Somehow, Yellow Diamond hasn't been able to get her hands on this. Maybe not to get Blue Diamond suspicious," the Zircon quickly reacted.
"Pink deserved it. Fusing with-" Quartz stopped and looked over to the star that was Homeworld. "Blue Diamond."
"We need to look over this more carefully and deeply," the Zircon told her. "I believe we can put a final end to this case, before another war starts. If we can just read over a log which goes into the rebellion with a little more depth, we could uncover who shattered Pink Diamond!" As the two contrasting gems read and read and read over the logs carefully and slowly, they found something peculiar. A log with no name, no date and no Diamond Authority symbol.
It read:
Rose. If you have gone to my base- the Moon- as I told you you have probably read this. This is the end of the line.
I have handed myself in.
You are safe on the Moon, so hopefully they wouldn't have caught you here. Keep our comrades safe. I was and always have been a mistake. Blue Diamond has always accepted me. Please spare her. Don't let her die by your hand. I love you both dearly. Yellow Diamond and White will have me shattered at White Diamond's court. Privately of course. They will shove the blame on you. Please. Keep Earth safe and all of its inhabitants. It would be a shame if it was destroyed.
It's time I stopped rooting for both sides. It's either you or me. I've chosen my pick.
Hopefully I will meet you again.
In another existence.
A fragile, clear tear emerged from Quartz's creamy yellow eye. Blue Zircon too was mourning for Pink's demise, large, blue tears erupting from her rectangular eyes. Suddenly, Quartz raised one foot in the air and sent it colliding with the stoney, icy floor, causing for another crater to form on the pale Moon.
The Zircon spelled out everything the Quartz was thinking in a hateful and angry tone: "I think it is time to start a new revolution. Let us show all of the gems that have been fooled by their leaders....how monstrous the Diamond Authority really is."
