A/N: Hey guys! Anna here. This is just a "short" story of Marinette and Adrien's Christmas together that I briefly mentioned in Believer's last chapter. A lot of you guys PMed me asking for this, so here you go (and also I've just wanted to make a Christmas Special since it's my absolute favorite holiday!)! And I'd highly suggest playing the music while you read, it gives it that extra magical Christmas effect throughout the book/chapter.
So snuggle up with a warm blanket and some hot chocolate and enjoy! (Maybe even some Christmas lights to make it cheerier)
I sighed as I looked out the hatch above my head, watching as the snow lazily floated and landed on top, creating a white hazy film that almost completely blocked my view of the outside world. My phone's sudden buzzing made me jump and I laughed slightly at myself for being startled so easily. A glance at my screen which showed a missed call from Adrien, an automatic smile formed on my face as I snatched my phone up and dialed him back. He was about to board his plane to go on a Christmas holiday with his father in America, so I wondered why he was calling me. It rung only once before he answered.
"Marinette?" Instantly I knew something was wrong, his voice was thick and heavy with negative emotion.
"Adrien? What's wrong? Did something happen?" I fervently asked, I heard him chuckle slightly but the sound died out quickly.
"He canceled, Mari. He, uh, he said that there was an emergency and...-" Adrien's voice broke a little, and my heart along with it. I knew how much he had been looking forward to this trip with his father. I had motioned Tikki over to me as he continued, "He's head-heading to Ireland now."
I pulled the phone away from my face and set it on my bed as I whispered to my Kwami, "Tikki, spots on!" I grabbed my phone back and pressed it firmly to my ear again.
"I'm so, so sorry minou. Are you still at the airport?" I questioned as I pulled the Chat Noir hoodie on, which I had forgotten to give Nino for his birthday. I scrambled for a moment as I tried to locate my earphones. I spotted them and quickly inserted them into my phone so I could hear Chat better while I was soaring through the air.
After Adrien and I got together, I found the black and lime green hoodie too sacred to abandon, even to give it to Nino. I ended up making him a different hoodie, with a gaming tag on it. He loved it all the same and was still continuing to thank me even after the month or so it had been. But with the resolve of keeping the hoodie, I modified it to fit my needs; built in, fingerless gloves; an inside breast pocket to hold my phone while I leapt through the city; a Sherpa lining in the torso and arms; zippers for the various pockets to keep things from falling out as I jumped from building to building; relined the front zipper so that the cloth could zip all the way up to right below my eyes; I took the liberty of relining the inside of the hoodie with my signature red with black spots design. Needless to say, it was my favorite piece to wear.
"Yeah, I'm waiting for Nathalie to come pick me up." Adrien's reply was so loud in my ears I nearly shrieked and dropped my phone as I desperately turned the volume of my phone down. Ouch. "Everything okay?" He asked, no doubt having heard the long line of curses that accidentally escaped my lips.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm good now. Just put in some earphones so I don't wake my parents up." The lie came easier than I probably should have been able to manage, but what good was leading a double life if I couldn't use my excellent lying skills to surprise my boyfriend? Even though it was almost one in the morning. I knew he'd want my support and there was no way I was going to let him think for one second he was going to spend Christmas alone. He had a habit of thinking he's alone in this world; I've been trying my hardest to break him of it. I already knew which airport he was at, so I slipped out my window and braced myself against the cold as I silently shut the window and leaped from the building, catching myself with my Yo-yo.
