The Coffee Shop - Part 2

It was 3pm in the afternoon, it was very warm and cozy inside the coffee shop. As we enter, we went on the line and ordered our coffee. While waiting, we were talking to each other on the line. "Thank you so much again, you saved my day.", Chase said. "You're welcome!" I said with a bright big smile.

Finally, we reached the cashier. "What will you order?", The woman asked. "Oh, just a cappuccino.", I replied. "I'll pay for it", Chase said as he gave the money to the cashier. "Wait what? No! You don't have to.", I said to Chase as I held his hand away. "Oh--uh..", He said as he looked at my hand. "Oh sorry! I--uh--um.." I stuttered, I didn't know what to say.

"Heh, its okay! I will still pay for it though.", He said as he smiled and paid for my cappuccino. "Uh.. thanks..", I replied. He grabbed our coffee and went to find a place to sit. "Here, this looks like a good spot.", Chase said as we both sat down. "Hey! I sit here almost all the time!", I replied with a bit of excitement. "No way! Haha, it seems like it was meant to be.", He replied.

"Huh? What do you mean?", I replied, confused with his statement. "Oh--uh I meant like--uh we were meant to sit on this spot!", He explained. "Oh.. yeah, yeah that makes sense.", I tried to avoid smiling because that would mean something else. Of course I wouldn't want him to think of it that way. So I tried to change the subject.

"So... tell me about yourself!", I said as I took a sip of my coffee. "Well, I'm Chase, 25 years old, and I work at LHV which you obviously already know.", He said as he laughed. "How about you? Tell me about yourself.", Chase asked. "Okay! I'm Skye, 24 years old, and I'm currently unemployed." I replied to his question.

We continued to talk about ourselves until it was already 5pm. "Woah, its getting a bit late..", I said looking at the time. "Yeah, sure is. But before we go.. can I have your number? So I can message you or meet up if you want?", Chase asked me. "Yeah! Here..", I said as I wrote my number in the receipt that we got for the coffee.

"Thanks! I'll go now, bye!" He said as he waved me bye. "Yeah, bye Chase!", I said as I waved back and went back to my apartment. It wasn't too far from the coffee shop, so I just walked. "Ah, my sweet humble abode." I said as I went inside my bedroom. "That was a weird but cool day.", I whispered to myself as I flopped on the bed.

'DING', the noise came from my phone, It was a message from Chase. It was only a simple "Hi" that he sent me so I just responded with a "Hello". I was very tired to reply, so I just fell asleep.
It was a very good day, and it was a very relaxing sleep.

I woke up, kind..of a bit..weirdly. I checked the time and it was already 9am. "Oh, I've never overslept this late!", I said as I got out of bed and went to the bathroom. I yawned and stretched, I still felt like I wanted to sleep more.

'DING' 'DING', multiple noises came from my phone. It was another message from Chase.

9:37 PM
"Hey! You responded! I can finally talk to you through message :]"
"By the way, wanna have some coffee tomorrow at.. maybe around 10 AM?"
9:49 AM
"Hi! Are you still coming? I'm walking to the coffee shop right now."
"I'll wait for your response"

"Oh! Uh--what time is it right now?", I said as I immediately checked the time. '10:12 AM', I freaked and immediately brushed my teeth, put on dry shampoo and changed my clothes. Afterwards, I ran outside to get to the coffee shop as fast as I could.

"Skye!", I heard Chase's voice as I entered. "Oh hey! Sorry I'm a bit late, I woke up at 9 so it took me a long time.", I said. "Oh that's okay! You're here now and that's what matters.", He replied as he went to order coffee with me.

"So.. how's your day been going?", He asked me with a smile. "It's been fine, since I kinda only woke up a few minutes ago.", I laughed. "Well, that's great because it'll only be getting better!", He smiled. I wonder why he's so happy today, what is he planning?

We got our orders and we sat down to talk for awhile. It was pretty fun talking to him, I never really did these kind of things with my other friends. It made it feel a bit more special. After we finished our coffee, Chase had an idea. "You go to that park a lot, right?", He asked me. "Yeah, I usually order my coffee and sit there.", I replied.

"Hm, well then I'll show you a secret place.", He said as he took my hand and brought me to this place that was hidden around the corner of the park. "Oh my..", I said as I was in shock. It was so beautiful and lovely! It had a freshly clean pond and flowers that looked so nice.

"This place.. its wonderful!", I said as I looked around and smiled. I wish I had brought my camera, everything there was so pretty. "Heh, I'm glad you like it.", He said happily. "How did you know that this was here?", I questioned him. "My mom loved gardening, she would always bring me here ever since I was little.", He smiled as he explained to me.

"Wow! I can't believe you brought me here.. it's so beautiful!", I smiled. "Thank you!", I said as I hugged him. "Uh--you're welcome.", He said as he hugged me back.

We stayed there for awhile. All I can say is, I had a great time.

"I had such a nice time. Thank you, Chase, for bringing me here.", I said as we were walking back to my apartment.
"No problem! Today was really fun, can we do this more often?", He asked me. "Of course, call me anytime!", I told him as we arrived at the front of my apartment.

"This is my home, see you!" I said while I was hugging him again one more time. "Yeah, see you too!", He said and blushed. "Bye Chase!", i waved him bye and went inside.
