Right well I fixed this up, so here you go!
“Virgo, you’re just a little kid. They can’t make you get married!”
“According to the laws of our civilisation, they can.”
“But that’s ridiculous!”
“And it’s bound to happen someday! I can’t avoid my fate forever, Aries!” I turned and stormed away from the conversation, missing the hurt look that had taken over Aries’ face.
Honestly, that boy annoys the hell out of me sometimes. So what if my mother was attempting to wed me to the enemy Kingdom to make peace? It’s not like she had my father to tell her right from wrong anymore. All she had was me, Aries and my little brother, Scorpio. And by law, since I was under the age of eighteen, I had to listen to what she said, no matter how crazy it was.
And this time, it was getting married. When I was only fifteen.
Of course, this wasn’t the first time that something like this has happened. I’ve lived many lives before this, and I will live many lives after this. Well, unless I break the line of the Zodiac by dying before we come into power.
But that wouldn’t happen, right? Of course not.
“I’m just saying, Virgo, that you shouldn’t have to marry someone you aren’t comfortable with, while being underage in a society that doesn’t listen to women! Your mother already has enough alliances with the surrounding Kingdoms; she doesn’t need another!”
“But this one will get us the cotton and food supplies we need to support those less fortunate in our Kingdom!” I argued. “One sacrifice on my part is not going to damage the Kingdom; it will greatly benefit, and I rather it’d be me than someone else.”
“You are insufferable, Virgo! You shouldn’t have to sacrifice your happiness so that your mother becomes happy, if only for a moment: it isn’t right! Stand up to her!”
“And give her a heart attack, leading her to a premature death which will leave me as Queen and my little brother practically on his own? No thanks.” I turned and strode away, trying, for the love of God, to get away. I knew Aries, though, so he was just bound to follow me and attempt to get me out of the deal. However, I made up my mind.
At least, that’s what I thought until I met the damn bastard.
He was tall and handsome, as Princes usually are. And he had wonderful manners and a nice enough personality, as most Princes do. Until, of course, I was in a room alone with him. He became an intolerable bastard, as Princes usually do.
He kept complaining about how he didn’t want to go through with the marriage because I was too much of a virgin - whatever that meant - and he wasn’t into blondes and yadda yadda ya.
“Look.” I cut him off. He watched me with wide eyes as I went into my tirade, like no one had ever done something like that to him.
“This is for the good of both of our Kingdoms; mine in the sense that it will help those living in the streets by giving them the supplies they need to live properly and yours in the sense that you will have an ally with one of the strongest Kingdoms around and you will receive half of our earnings and land, as is customary with my dowry. So shut up and stop complaining.” I sat down with a huff and looked at the books lining the walls. We were in his personal library, set next to his room, with our mothers discussing the marriage in the next room, the study.
“Can I screw you?” He asked bluntly. My eyes whipped to his as a wild blush took over my face, which I immediately tried to cool. He grinned maniacally and moved closer, draping his arm over my shoulders. It was at that moment that our mothers re-entered the room, so I couldn’t yell at him for his stupid comment, only blush and look away with a scowl. Our mothers saw us immediately and ‘aww’ed, which made me want to rip my hair out.
