I fell to the ground with a loud thump, the world spinning around me. Drowning in my own pool of blood, I could hear the screams of my relatives and the loud howling of wolves. I tried to get back up on my feet to fight but that only welcomed back the pain. A dark figure ran up to me. It was jet black with the strangest gold eyes. I had never seen this wolf before. He was beautiful. He picked me up using his mouth in a way that was surprisingly harmless. Quickly, he ran away from the blood bath, with me dangling in his jaws.

He lay me down on the grass and 'shifted' into his human form. Just as beautiful. He took his shirt off and wrapped it around a large open gash on my leg. At the sight of my wounds I fainted and memories started to flood into my head...

My parents were taking care of me, my friends helping me out, laughter, happiness. Why couldn't it be like that now? Why did there have to be war? I still don't know the answer. Bad memories started to flood into my head now. Fights with my parents, tears, blood, hatred.

I started to scream, but he woke me. My eyes fluttered open. It took a while to adjust to the daylight and then he was there, watching over me, his eyes filled with worry.

"What's your name?" He asked me.

"Can I trust you?" I asked back.

"Of course you can!" He replied, smiling.

"My names Sharni, what's yours?" I asked politely.

"My name is Derek." He replied. "So, now that we have the names sorted out, are you up to a tour around my village?"
