Bascom had fun with Briana, After he took care of important errands, & phone calls. He made sure that she was comfortable sleeping in his office, while he was finishing up some reports. He can't believe that in a span of two years, They made themselves a successful business.
Sam was doing some research on any further investigation into Tek Cartels, & into the war. Jake, in the meantime, was calling in almost every favor that was owed to him. He wants the world to be rid of Tek, Cause it causes more harm, than good. The Handsome PI doesn't want his baby girl to be around that stuff, & he doesn't want his son to be around it either, So, That is why he puts in the long hours & hard work at Cosmos Detective Agency for the almost two years, that he has been there.
Jake got frustrated with the paperwork that he was doing, His system was not cooperating with him, & he needed to get the report to Bascom, or the case won't stick without it. "God, Some days, I just really hate paperwork", he thought to himself, as he was going through the file, once it was working perfectly. He was half way through read the first batch, when Bascom had perfect timing, & he was carrying Briana, who was smiling after nap, knowing that she will see her daddy, as soon as they reached him.
"Someone's missing their daddy", Bascom said in a sing song voice, as he made his way over to his top man, Jake said, "There is my munchkin, How was she ?, Any trouble ?", as his boss handed the infant over to him. "She was an angel, & woke up with a smile on her face", The Two Men were fussing over her. The Littlest Cardigan made a wail of protest, The Top Investigator said with a smirk, "I know that sound, She is hungry", & he went over to his wife's office.
"Baby, You got any bottles in the diaper bag ?", Jake asked, as he saw that his wife was taking a break from her share of her reports, She looked up & smiled at the two most important people in her life, "She's hungry ?", as she was about to get up, but Jake stopped her, & said, "I'll feed her, You'll relax". Sam nodded, & indicated to the bag with her head,"There are some bottles in there, Thanks, Sweetie", as he got it out of the bag, & left her to her privacy, & that she can relax too.
The Proud Father was relieved when his little girl took the bottle immediately, & he smiled, as he watched her suckle on the plastic bottle. "Baby, Me & Your Mommy are so glad that you are here, I just want you to know, You are always gonna be loved", he said, as he caressed her cheek. When he saw that she finished the bottle, He said exclaiming with a smile, "Good Girl, You finished it !", He then started to walk her around, as he gently patted her back, in order to get her to burp.
When she finally lets out a burp, Jake held her closer to him, & began what is gonna be one of the "Father-Daughter" chats, He brought her to his couch, after a round of walking, & he said, "I know that this world seems strange, & But, Just remember this, You aren't gonna be alone, Me, Your Mommy, Uncle Walter, Aunt Nina, & Your Brother, Danny, We are always gonna have your back". The Baby gurlged happily, & she closed her eyes, as she went to sleep, & Jake couldn't help, but watched her for awhile, & then Nika poked her head in. She said with a big grin, "If you need to have a break, I can watch the princess, Boss brought the bassinet down, so I can watch her", The Handsome Man said, "Thanks, Nika, I will be see Wiz, Cowgirl, & Wild Side soon", She left him to enjoy his daughter, before he has to leave to meet his friends, & informants, so the case would definitely stick with their expertise.
Meanwhile, Sam was able to enjoy a cup of tea, & she knew that she has her husband to thank for that, She is planning a special weekend, so she can do just that. She thought how far she & Jake came, & she is so proud of the accomplishments, that they did together. "I will always be there for Jake, I hope he knows that he means the world to me", she thought to herself, as she went back to tackle her share of the reports.
In the meantime, Jake went to the usual spot where Wild Side, Wiz, & Cowgirl lived, & work, Jake smiled, & said, "Hey, Guys, What's shakin ?, as he came in, & took a shot of whiskey, that Wiz offered him, & he sat down with him, so they can discuss business, that needs to be conducted, & dealt with. Wild Side said, "Cardigan, Good to see you, Brother, We got to something for you", He turned to his lover, & protege, "Cowgirl, If you would please", she nodded, & got into her chair, & position.
Wild Side was backing her up, as he was watching the screen, & making sure that Cowgirl was being followed by the cyber police, & that they are free, & clear. When, She finally stopped & got to where she wanted. She showed them pictures of Briana, & Jake was clearly touched by the gesture, "Thank you", he simply said, as Cowgirl & Wild Side made a disc for him.
"Now on to the business that brings you here, Jake", The Wiz said, as they sat back down, & faced each other. "I need all info on this guy, Please, Everything, The works, There is something off about him". Wiz said, "Well, Your instincts are never wrong, Cardigan, We will do some snooping", Jake thanked him. Wild Side said, "You have a disc on him ?", The Top PI handed over the info to him. They went over to where Cowgirl was, Wild Side kissed her, & said, "Go for it, Girl", & she retook her position, put on the headset, & sat in the chair, & clapped her hands, & was going through the Matrix Network, so she can get the required info for them.
"This guy is real slick, It seems that he is trying to hide his tek holdings in the legal holdings of the rest of his businesses, But no one could ever get him on charges, & other illegal dealings". Wild Side said, as a suggestion, "I think that you should have a detail on this asshole for sure, That way, You can catch him in the act", Jake pondered the suggestion, & said with an arched eyebrow, "It could work", & they planned it out perfectly.
Cowgirl said with a confident smile, "I could put a firewall up, & some traps for his hackers, Just in case that they try to pull something stupid", Wiz nodded in approval, "It's a good idea, Do it", Wild Side nodded, "We are on it", He & Cowgirl went to do their task, Jake shook the lead hacker's hand, & said, "Thank you, Wiz", Wiz nodded, & Jake left to be with his family.
