Introducing the character and blah blah blah haha enjoy :P
My name is Riley King, but you can just call me Riley. I am 17 years old, I have bright green eyes and long dark brown hair. I'm the new kid in Tulsa, I know no one around here and I don't plan on making any friends. I'm not your typical good kid, in fact I am anything but good. My Mother died after giving birth to me and ever since my Dad has hated me. It used bother me, but not any more and i'm used to it. I'm not your typical "girl" either, I ain't girly and I fight real good. Most people would just call me a hood. But it seems in this foreign area that there are Soc's, Middle Class kids no one cares about, and then there's Greasers. What am i? Well i'm most likely to end up a greaser, I have a poor, alcoholic father and i'm a troubled kid. I don't mind getting in fights and I don't feel pain that much anymore.
Moving onto my story,
Since I am new to this town I thought it would be a good idea to go for a walk and have a look at where everything is, I didn't mind that it was going to get dark soon. So I started walking everywhere around town, until I came across a park, it had a fountain that was shining in the dark catching my attention I went to check it out. I was sitting at the fountain when I heard some screaming coming my way, I looked over to find a kid running away from what looked like... Soc's. The Soc's pushed the kid down onto the ground and one of them pulled out a blade, so I thought I could stop the kid from being jumped. I went over to the soc's and pulled my blade on them.
"If you're gonna hurt him, you gotta get through me first" I challenged them.
I threw a punch at one of them and got him on the ground and slashed him with my blade a few times and got up and kicked him. The other kid was punching the other soc's, after punching the soc's more they finally ran away. The boy came over to me.
"Are you okay?" I asked
"I'm fine" he replied
"How come you helped me?" he asked
"You were in trouble, I thought maybe I could give you some help" I said
"Well thanks for that" he said
"You from here?" he asked
"I actually only just moved here, so I was on a walk looking at places to hang out. But I also came here to get away from my dad." I explained
"What's wrong with your dad? oh and by the way, It's pretty dangerous coming here at this time of the night" He said
"My dad doesn't like me, also I've seen more dangerous places at night" I said
I started walking away until I heard him shout "wait", I turned around and said "Yeah?"
"You should come meet my friends, you would like them" He said
"Sure, sounds fun" I said
We started walking to what I presume was his house. On the way he told me his name was Ponyboy, It was cool and original. I told Ponyboy my name as well. I learnt about him that he has 2 older brothers; Darry and Sodapop, Sodapop is 17 and Darry's 20. I told him about my dad kicking me out a lot of times and him being an alcoholic. I thought Ponyboy was a nice kid and was worth being friends with.
"So are you a greaser?" I asked
"Yeah, the whole gang are greasers, but they ain't too bad" Ponyboy said
"Cool" I said
Within a few more minutes of walking, Ponyboy and I were at his house, and we walked in getting greeted with wide eyes. Ponyboy introduced my to Dally, known as the famous hoodlum Dallas Winston, Two-Bit Mathews, Steve Randall, Johnny Cade and of course Sodapop and Darrel Curtis, who is known as Darry. They all looked like greasers, but they were quite nice to me. Sodapop looked like a movie star, dark gold hair, and an award winning smile. Darry had Dark Brown hair, his eyes are like pieces of pale blue-green ice and looks stern. Dally is a hardcore, law breaking hood, and has a reputation of a bad boy. Two-Bit is the joker of the group, he's an extreme wise-cracker and shoplifter. Steve is tall, lean, cocky and smart and he is Sodapops best friend. Johnny is smaller than the rest, with a slight build, he had big black eyes and jet black hair. Ponyboy is humble, caring and friendly. That is how I described the guys.
I talked to all of them about stuff like switch blades and 'whats the worst fight you've been in?' They were quite bad but I admired it, it was interesting listening to all of their stories. I was having a good time with them when I couldnt help but notice noticed that a couple of them were flirting with me, I found that Dally was always staring at me and when I caught him he would smile, I was curious to why he was staring at me. The boys were all firing questions at me, like
'How old are you?'
'Do you go to school?'
'Are you single?'
'Do you drink or smoke?'
'Do you swear?'
and my answers were... '17 years old, I kinda dropped out of school, yes I am single, and yes I do smoke, swear and drink.'
It was getting real late and my dad would be getting home soon so I thought I needed to leave.
"Hey guys I gotta go now or my dad will go mental on me"
That was followed by a few 'aw don't go' or 'stay a little longer'
But "like I said, if I don't get home soon my father will go mental and probably hurt me" is really all I could say to them.
"Me and Dally will walk you home" Ponyboy exclaimed
"You don't need to, but some company would be nice" I said
I said goodbye to the gang, and Ponyboy, Dally and I set off for my house. Luckily, I was home before my dad so I didn't get beaten up for being late. I was about to open my door when Ponyboy grabbed my wrist and said "Meet us at the fountain tomorrow" I nodded in approval and left the boys. Once I got up to my room I thought about how fast it was for me to make friends after only moving in a few days ago. I was satisfied with the new friends I made, I clicked with them as soon as I met them and I already feel close to them.
