Oneshot

Zen stood by his window. His face clearly reflected on the transparent glass. He stared into the distance as rain poured down heavily outside. He sighed before smoking the cigarette that was caught between his two fingers. He remained silent as his mind wandered and waves of regret and heart break washed over him.

"I thought you'd quit that nasty habbit of yours" a familiar voice was suddenly heard and Zen was sent back to reality. He didn't even have to turn around to know who it was, but he did anyway "How did you get in here" a frown was now visible on the actor's face as he stared at the raven haired male that was standing a few meters away. He wasn't wearing a suit instead he was wearing a dark navy blue long sleeved button up shirt with black loose cotton slacks.

"You should really consider locking your doors if you don't want anyone to intrude" Jumin looked at the actor with a bored expression. Zen let out a small 'tch' before asking him "Why are you here?"

Jumin placed his hands inside his pockets. One hand started fiddling with something. His eyes never lost contact with Zen's. "I'm here to convince you to go see MC". The actor knitted his eyebrows before turning back to the window and continued smoking his cigarette. There was a pregnant silence before the actor finally spoke "she wasn't happy with me" he placed a few fingertips gently on the delicate glass before continuing "I can't give her the life she deserves, what will happen to her if the world finds out.." his voice trailed off. His chest was aching. Memories of that day started to fill his mind.

It had been a year since they started going out and Zen was out buying groceries with MC. MC walked over to the vegetable isle leaving Zen who was busy looking for some meat. MC had a smile on her face while thinking of the dinner she planned on cooking tonight. When she got what she needed and went back to the cart Zen was already there talking to a few fangirls. When they noticed the brunette putting in vegetables into the actor's cart they started to question "who is she?"

Zen turned and noticed MC "oh uh.." MC knew what his answer was it's always the same answer "she's just a really close friend of mine" MC forced a smile and nodded but deep inside her chest was aching.

The ride home was silent. Zen noticed it and waited till they got home to ask "are you upset about what I said" MC didn't say anything instead she just placed the remaining groceries onto the concrete countertop. "Look I know that you don't like it I don't like it either but I'm scared of what might happen to you if they found out.. I mean as an actor scandals are normal I guess but the thought of you getting involved.." before Zen could finish MC was already walking towards the front door. She didn't want this.

"MC..? Hey wait!" Zen called out but she ignored him and walked out before bumping into something hard and fell backwards onto the floor. When she looked up she saw a tall figure in a suit staring down at her with an emotionless expression.

"Jumin.." she whispered. Jumin's eyes narrowed as he stared into hers. "Jumin what are you doing here" the two looked towards the door where Zen stood. He was silent for awhile before offering MC his hand to help her get back on her feet which she gladly accepts. "I just came here to inform you about the cat commercial. The product has been selling really well these past few months and since you're part of this project the amount of pay you received has increased" Jumin explained before revealing an envelope that he had been holding. "But it seems that my timing isn't well.." he looked over to MC who was staring down at her feet. Zen didn't say anything. "Did something happen between you two? If you don't mind me asking". Zen frowned "of course we mind you don't just-" zen was cut off by MC's sudden burst "I'm breaking up with him"

The shock that was visible made MC regret her decision but at the same time she knows what will happen if things keep going like this. "MC I.." Zen approached her but was blocked by the raven haired who had a warning look on his face. "Get out of my way!" Zen yelled but Jumin paid no attention. "I said get out of my way" Zen gritted his teeth Jumin's face softened but he continued to disobey and as a punishment he got a good punch from the actor that resulted to him falling on his shoulder onto the floor. "Jumin!!" MC yelled and ran to the CEO. Zen's eyes widen. Why did he do that? "I'm alright MC no need to worry" Jumin sat up and held his jaw.

Zen's shaggy bangs covered his eyes. "Leave... now" he turned and entered his house closing the door behind him. Jumin and MC remained silent.

That memory. He wanted to forget it so badly. He lost the love of his life and also injured the man that had helped him back during the echo girl scandal and offered him a job when he knew no one would hire him.

"Zen.." the actor's attention was captured by the CEO who approached and stood next to him by the window. He stared at the small drops of water that were streaming down the transparent glass. "Do you know why she was upset?" Zen stared at the CEO confused. He noticed the red mark that was barely visible on his cheek and jaw from the punch. His chest started to ache more. "Because I wouldn't admit to the world that she was my girlfriend." Jumin continued to stare at the small drops of water as rain continued to pour.

"Well that's one thing" Jumin sighed. "But what made her really upset was that you looked down on her. She's a strong and smart girl, Hyun." Jumin crossed his arms and leaned against the window not taking his eyes off the small drops. "She also knew that if you kept doing that the relationship won't progress"

"It could have"

"How long were you planning to keep things a secret..? Until you retire..?" Zen stared at Jumin's eyes that were suddenly filled with emotions. "She wants a normal relationship maybe soon get married settle down and start a family." Jumin narrowed his eyes that were still glued to the drops. "If a scandal were to happen she wants to go through it together with you. Through thick and thin she'll go through it as long as she's with you. Life isn't easy and she wants to fight the wars with you and not just hide until retirement"

Zen didn't say anything and stared at his feet. "Go to her Zen. She's at the apartment" Zen looked back up to Jumin who finally made eye contact. His face was soft. The room was silent and Zen finally nodded before running out the door while grabbing his motorcycle keys. Jumin stared with his arms folded as the white figure disappeared down the empty hall.

He took out his phone and started dialling.

30 minutes passed since then. MC sat on the bed inside of the apartment. She had just finished a nice hot shower. It felt nice considering the rainy weather, she had also managed to make herself a cup of strong coffee.

She sat and stared out the window of the apartment. She couldn't stop thinking about Zen, she felt regret for what she did that day but there was no other choice. Just as she set down the cup of coffee onto the wooden table she heard a knock on the door.

"MC.." an unmistakable voice. "Zen.." she could hear panting as she approached closer, accompanied by the sound of drops of water falling onto the floor. "MC I'm sorry.. I know what I did wrong.. and I'm sorry" Zen's voice sounded weak and fragile which made MC's chest ache and tears filled her eyes.

"I'll let the whole world know about our relationship if it means I get to stay with you. Any scandal we encounter we'll go through it together. Please MC I need you.." Zen stared down at his feet. "I-" the door of the apartment suddenly flew open and MC came running up to hug the actor who was soaking wet from the rain. "I missed you, Zenny" the embrace was tight. Zen returned the hug "I missed you too" MC started to cry as Zen stroked her head and tangled his fingers in her hair.

On the floor above theirs, Jumin was leaning on a railing not caring if Zen or MC noticed which they didn't. Jumin was proud of himself for being able to help the two but there was a weird feeling in his chest. He let out a sigh and whispered his usual reminder to himself.

"As long as she's happy.. Because that's all that matters"
