"Damn I missed these," Eli sighed. They had walked down to the nearby 7-Eleven and bought our Slurpees and were sitting at a park across the street. He bought the promised two Slurpees and one for himself. He sucked up the sweet mixture of artificial flavours and looked around. Burpy had his own extra small one with him in his bag.

"Where the hell were you that didn't have Slurpees? Oh and I still want answers from before," Claire seemed calmer now, she sipped at her own Slurpee across the table they had found.

Eli sighed and looked over at Butch, his mind made up, "You are not allowed to tell Aunt Lizzy. Not yet anyway." He paused, "I'm looking for my father. I found him when I was finishing his old work, but he's been stuck in a wrong crowd and needs my help to get out of it."

"But he's been dead for years!" Claire looked at Eli like he was insane.

"I thought so too. Until I saw him." Eli looked down at his drink.

"Why can't I tell mom?" Butch spoke solemnly

"Because I need the reason to leave. When she tries to stop me."

"But your plan-"

"Is for when this one fails. She comes only if I'm not back on time." Eli looked up at them

Claire stiffened, "Who will come?" She glanced around like the comment put her on edge.

"A friend who's been... helping me," Eli muttered as he saw something behind Claire. Wide-eyed he got up, "I have to go, I- I'll see you guys later," frantically, he ran back into the suburbs. Claire thought she saw something orange move to Eli's shoulder as he moved out of sight.

Eli couldn't believe it at the park and realized it was worse when he was back in his room. Interacting with the Shadow-clan was one thing, but seeing one on the surface freaked him out.

It was waiting for him when he got to his room and waited as he and Burpy searched for the Shadow-talker

It was waiting for him when he got to his room and waited as he and Burpy searched for the Shadow-talker. He put it on, the world took on the regular fuzziness as it translated the creature's words, "You bear an Infurnus and Shadow-talker along withstanding their power. Who are you to possess these?"

"You aren't from the caverns, are you? I'm the champion of the 99 Caverns, Eli Shane, son of Will Shane," it seemed to him that the surface Shadow-clan didn't communicate much with its cavern dwelling counterparts.

"Son of Shane, your assistance is requested by the daughter of Creed."

"Who?" Eli was confused by what assistance meant and who the daughter of Creed was.

"As you would call the North American Champion requests you assist in a... dilemma," the Shadow-clan warrior in front of him seemed to not want to say more on the matter.

"Okay then," Eli scratched his head and looked over at Burpy, who shrugged, "Where do I meet her then? And how do I help her? I don't have any slugs but Burpy."

"Come," it motioned to grab his hand.

A/N Ok yes I know it's short but it's been sitting here a while, and I need this badly written part, for this story to progress. Even if half of it is filler... sue me this story is sucking I don't know why you people read this... If you are then please comment if you like it or how it can be better. I'm like a couple chapters ahead but I won't post unless I have some real support for this (Even if this fandom is small), I'm thinking at least 5 votes for this chapter. See you all next update!(Hopefully)
