The girls (with George and Gilligan), made their way outside. Kalila and Mia brought drinks and everyone's shoes, as once they were drunk enough they went bare foot. Lani was in tears and running to the shore. Fia had sobered up a lot, but was still a bit wobbly. Enya was right next to George, both behind Lani, and Gilligan was next to Lani. Ready to catch her when if she fell.
Sand was getting all over their outfits, and George's new black dress pants and white collared shirt, with suspenders hanging around around his waist. His black bowtie falling off, and the scent of his Gucci Guilty Black Cologne wearing off.
She stopped at the edge of the water, slowly sinking, only because Gilligan was steadying her. Her hands went to her face as she sat there crying. Everyone caught up and gathered around her, also sitting, waiting for her to speak.
"I-I THOUGHT HE LIKED ME!" She said, barely coherent. "TH-THE FLIRTING, HOW HE LOOKED AT ME WHEN HE THOUGHT I DIDN'T SEE! GEORGE!! YOU TOLD ME!! YO-YOU SAID HE LIKED ME!! BUT HOW?!? WHY?!? HE IS ENGAGED!!"
"WHAT?!?" Fia was confused and obviously shocked. "YOU LIKE THAT SHORT GREEN DUDE??"
"I think the more important thing to focus on is... He is ENGAGED and flirting with other ladies." Mia slurred.
"Yeah! What kind of scumbag does that?!" George said.
"Yeah, he is disgusting." Gilligan murmured silently, obviously hidding something.
"Gilligaaan." Enya eyed him. "Did you know before tonight??"
"Oh, well.. Yes... Ashe, he did research on him before we all joined, so.. Umm.. Yes?" Even if they couldn't see his eyes, it was as though they were avoiding theirs. "BUT, if I had known it would cause you this much sorrow, I would have told you."
"I... Know.." Lani was playing with the sand between her toes. "KALILA! Give me some bubbly." She held out her hand.
"Okay ..." She did as told, after Enya nodded.
"Do we know who this..... Chick... Is?" Fia had an evil look in her eye.
"No." Lani sniffed and chugged her drink, feeling lightheaded so she leaned against George's shoulder.
"Nope." Gilligan sighed.
"Uh-uh." Enya shook her head.
"Okay, so we find out who, and beat the living shit out of her..." Fia said as if it was the natural conclusion. "Then we beat the shit out of him."
"Can we take the none violent path please? Just thinking about it is making my stomach hurt." Mia groaned. "Gill! Can you help me?"
"Oh.. Umm... I... Umm... I...." He stuttered. "What?"
"Are you drunk!?!" Kalila gasped, while rubbing Mia's back.
"Can shadows get drunk?" Lani looked confused.
"No... Yes... Well technically no, I can't drink. But Ashe must be pretty fucked up for it to be affecting me like this." Gilligan was fumbling over his words.
"Aww! And just when I thought you couldn't get any cu-" Kalila started, but then Mia threw up on her lap. "WHAT THE FUCK! " She shrieked.
"I guess this means we go to bed." Fia sighed and picked up Mia.
"I am going to wash up." Kalila pouted.
Everyone started walking away.
"Lani are you coming?" George called back to her.
"No... I want to watch the sun come up, it is almost time." She sighed and stayed by the water's edge.
There was a figure standing by the shore listening to every thing, no one noticed not even Gilligan. As soon as everyone left he came out and stared at the back Lani, he didn't say anything, he do anything. He just watched, until she passed out.
When she awoke, there was no one there. She had a blanket wrapped around her, and a letter in her shoe that went unnoticed.
