Ahhh. I woke up to the smell of pancakes and strawberries. I got up, made my bed and then left to see who was making the breakfast today. I then saw that on my indoor mat, there was a note.

To whom it may concern: In this case Gaby. I am here to tell you that I will be taking over your cabin near the lake. I love the view and I think it is the perfect place to tear down and turn into a hotel. Well, thank you for understanding, Yours Truly, Mark. WHAT?!?! Since when did Mark think that he had the right to own my property. I stormed into the kitchen to find my friend Ashley in the kitchen. She turned and smiled at me as she set two plates of pancakes next to each other. The sunlight flooded the room and the baby blue curtains really made it seem very pinterest. At least, that is what Ashley said. I slumped into my chair, I noticed that Alex, my brother, was not here. "Where's Alex?" She sets a plate in the dishwasher and takes out the soap. "He's over in the barn. Why?" "Well, ole Mark thinks that he is going to buy our lake house. Just wanted to comfort him in case things get weird." Ashley comes to me with a face I don't like. She sits down and says words that still shake me today. "He will." My face freezes. My sister has lost hope? We have been fighting this monster and his ancestors since we bought the house from his great great great grandfather. I look at her and just sigh as she tells me. "I hope that you understand that since I am in charge, I need to have money to feed you and your brother. Not to forget the animals and I still need to pay bills." She looks like she is about to cry. "That house was important to me too Gaby. I grew up swimming in that lake" "Well then we can't just let it disappear from our lives! We have to do something. Something like -" "GABY! WE NEED TO GIVE UP!" She jolts up and then leaves the room and then comes back and says "don't even think about telling Alex. You know how much he loves that lake." I look over at her with astonishment. Don't tell my brother! That is like trying to convince someone that that the house in front of them is not on fire. Impossible and very dangerous. I have never kept a secret from my older brother in my life. I look at her and she keeps staring at me and every second, they get colder and colder. She then blinks and runs out of the room and slams the door to her room. I sit at the empty table and think about what just happened.

I look outside and see Alex on the swing and then jumping off and starting to roll in the tall dry grass with Pancho. Our sheep dog. He is still a puppy. We named him poncho because we found him in our barn in a thunderstorm and he was hiding under a poncho and wouldn't come out. Then the moment of Pancho swimming in the lake. I smiled to myself. I looked at the clock. It was already 10. I finished my breakfast and then went to my room. I knew there were chores to be done so I got ready and went out side. It was a nice summers, day. The cool wind made up for the scorching heat. I looked around and memories began to flood back into my head. As I fed the chickens I felt as if I had to do something. That is when an idea came flooding into my head. I looked up and felt the wind hit me in the direction of the lake. I finished my chores and ran into my room I spent the whole day planning out what she was going to do. They have gone too far and they couldn't turn back now. Finally I was done. Now I just needed to wait.

Finally, everyone had gone to bed. I opend my door slightly and looked to see if anyone was there. The coast was clear. I crept out of my room and tiptoed down the stairs. I slid out the front door and got on my bike. I went down the dirt road and about 3½ miles away, there was the lake. The moon's reflection floated on the waters and the crickets stopped their nightly concert as I came through. I walked past the oak tree, past the diving board and past the picnic area. I then crept to the edge of the water and stepped into rainbow, our row boat. I rowed to the center and noticed that in the middle of the moon's reflection there was like a hint of a rainbow. The rainbow then faded and I looked around and saw that it was in the corner of the moon. Then to the middle and then to the left side and then right and then middle and then back to the bottom and then to the middle again. Now it was zipping and zagging. I looked around in the trees to see if it were someone doing a prank on me. I then felt a shove on my boat and I grabbed it with all my might. I then closed my eyes and rested my head. When I opened my eyes I looked at my watch and saw it was 2 am. I looked at the lake. Well, it's still early. I then looked at the moon and saw that there was a piece of gold floating on the moon and I got curious and bent down to get it when all of a sudden I tipped the boat and instead of falling into the water I found myself falling through a rainbow tunnel soon I was falling straight down and bellow I saw a tree. This was gonna hurt.
