Some people say change is good, but oh no, it is not, well for me it wasn't anyways. I really wish there was a rule book to life because it would have a section called "change" and then I would know what to do with my life.
Most people call me Frankie, others called me Francesca, which I totally hate and sometimes Franks. Oh yea, back to the whole change part. My dad left us when I was about 7 years old, mom really didn't say why, but she knew that he couldn't take the whole father thing. I do know that, if you can't take being a parent then don't have a child. It's simply that easy! According to my 3 year old brother, Rory, everyone has a story and mine is going to be Spider-Man, well what can you expect from a 3 year old? I think he means amazing because of the amazing Spider-Man but I guess I won't know for now.Nothing was changing significantly the day I started my sophomore year of high school, I live in Seattle, it literally rains everyday which like totally sucks for people who hate rain but I love hearing it fall and how I race which raindrop gets to the bottom first. I came home from school one day and saw my mom was being really smiley.
"Hey mom..." I said as I set my book bag down in the living room.
"Hello Franks!" She said with a huge smile
At that moment Rory started running around the house saying ,"mommy has a boyfriend, mommy has a boyfriend."
I looked up at her with the most confusing look. What does he mean? Frank, he's 3, what does he know? I kept running it over in my head.
"I met someone." A guy walked out of the kitchen and stuck out his hand. I just looked at him, he looked like 25, he still had a full head of hair and not a single wrinkle on his face."Your joking right?" I laughed hysterically at the fact.
"Hello. I'm Vince" the man said with a smile.
"He's going to move in." My mom added
I grabbed my book bag and walked out the door and across the street to my friend Nick's house. He was the wisest person I knew and always knew how to make me laugh.
I rang the doorbell and Nick's mother answered with a greeting smile."Welcome Frankie."
"Thanks Mrs. Young." I walked into the big house and ran upstairs to Nick's room.
"Franks, I wasn't expecting you, what's up?."
"We have a problem!" I sat on Nick's bed trying to catch my breath from running up the stairs.
"My mom has a new boyfriend, can I just avoid him for at least a little while and do homework here?" I basically plead even though I already know the answer.
"I don't care, I'll ask my mom if you can join us for dinner."
"I'm not ready for change." I fell back and stared at Nick's ceiling.
