But it takes a while
Just smile and you’ll be fine
As long as you don't show any sign
I am the shadow that sits in the back not wanting to be noticed
As quiet as a mouse some may say
Just trying to make it through the day
Making my own path
To lose myself in my hopes and dreams
Tightly holding on to a key that leads to the right door for me
The compass I hold will guide my way
Even when I stray
The shield I carry protects me
The sword I have defends me
They both stand beside me to let other know to let me be
The past is the past
Just see it go by real fast
With my head up high I will move forward
Not daring to look back
That is the right way to act
Many will block my way
Others will trap me
But I’ll find a way to set myself free
Like a lost pup I will try to find my way
To reach the place…..
I can embrace my hopes and dreams
With a prayer I will keep going
Till I finish my race...
