Her head lay against my shoulder while we wait to talk to the doctors doing my surgery. She's anxious and our baby girl is asleep. They told us we could bring her so we did, but we also brought Jeff just in case they don't want her to go in that way Reese can come with me. Even if Skylar is allowed to come he stays to drive Reese home. It's five AM the doctors wanted us here early my surgery is in one hour. "Kisses?" I raise an eyebrow at her making her giggle. Her soft lips press against mine, she moves slowly and evolves nothing like she always does when she's nervous, she simply kisses me.

"You look so tired," she brushes her thumb against my eyebrow. "I didn't sleep at all but I'm wide awake." She nods kissing his cheek. She sits a lot smaller than me as well and some days she loves it but most it's like an unspoken curse that's been laid upon her. She hates her height and she complains constantly that it's her fault I just roll my eyes at her. "You can shut you eyes," she mumbles. "Lean against the wall, or me?" She suggests sounding nervous while I laugh.

"I'll be fine darling," I reassure and she nods her cheeks flushing pink. I lean over resting my head atop hers to minimize her embarrassment, I yawn. "Maybe a little sleep," I smile while she does as well. Her hand runs over the back of mine, I rest my hand against her chest feeling the pounding of her heart. Sighing I bring her shaky hand against my chest letting her feel my heartbeat. "I'm nervous too," I sigh kissing her head.

"Mendes,"

Hidden behind flowers sits my love, a bouquet higher than she is. She moves closer and closer laying it against the table next to my bed. Turning to face me she smiles the blankets are off me and a thin cloth lays on top of my swollen body part ice over the cloth. "Hi," she mumbles staring at me standing a healthy distance away. She knows something I don't and it's obvious, I can see it in her eyes. "How you feeling?" My child like wife smiles. She seems nervous and excited, but anxious all at the same time.

"I'm sore," she looks down at the ice pack with a sad nod. "But I feel alright." I reassure grabbing her hand. "I feel a lot better now that you're here." I grab her hand laying it against my heart. The fast beat of my heart slowly starts to slow down and she smiles.

"I feel better seeing you so happy," she lays my hand on her heart but the fast heart beat never stops. "But it still hasn't calmed me down." She giggles and I nod. "I have something to tell you," she starts only to be cut off.

"Alright Mr. Mendes," my nurse smiles handing me some huge sweatpants. "You're free to go," my eyes go wide and Reese yips as if that's what she's been hiding the whole time.

"Come on teddy bear," she smiles helping me change, the nurse gives her a damp paper towel and by the looks of it she knows exactly what she's doing while she tries not to hurt me even though all movement brings me pain. I wince and whimper and she pouts letting hot salty tears fall against my legs. "I'm sorry teddy bear, I'm not trying to hurt you." She finally gets the pants up but she stares down her eyes not once moving even when I bring her head up.

"I'd lift you if I could princess," I brush my finger across her hairline. She's afraid of so much when it comes to our relationship, she fears if she does something wrong that I'll leave her. I've tried to explain to her that was high school but she doesn't want anything to do with it she doesn't believe me she thinks I'm lying or I'm gonna leave her anyways. "I can barely reach you." I look down moving slowly to my feet. She displays a look of pure terror, horror that I'm even approaching her and fear that if I touch her or she touches me someone's gonna get hurt and I know very well that would be me.

"I just came to pick you up," she sniffs breathing heavy breaths while I move towards her with open arms. "You're not allowed to hug me, or anyone else," her tears fall to the ground.

"Why can't I hug you princess, I'll be fine," I roll my eyes moving towards her and bringing her closer. The closer the gets the more pain I feel the more she pulls back.

"I love you teddy bear, I love you to bits, but I don't want you getting hurt." She waits for the wheelchair the nurse said she was bringing. "The kids are finished school today." She kisses my temple while I sit in the chair. "And we were gonna take a trip but we're waiting to see how you're feeling," she explains and I nod.

"You're a really good person," I grip her hand and she smiles pushing me out and towards the car.

"Welcome home daddy!" Our baby boy and my little girl squeal. I smile even though I've been gone twelve hours they have a banner and everything set up. The older kids aren't around, Mercy had a cheer tournament out of town that her friend took her to. Kaiden had a lacrosse tournament in London that he couldn't miss, Sydney and Jeff took him, Adam had a math competition and they flew out somewhere that I can't remember but he's not too far away. Jericho whoever sits with Skylar and one of the cats on the couch playing with her.

"Hi dad," he smiles and I nod my arm over Reese's shoulder. CJ waddles towards me wanting a hug.

"Daddy isn't allowed to give hugs baby," Reese pouts taking him into her arms.

"I can make an exception," regardless of the pain I feel and the awkward swelling I hold him and Angelina in my arms I'm not supposed to but I can't not give them hugs it's an impossible task.

"Dinner!" She calls out and our parents soon gather at the table. She leads me in slowly after everyone is situated showing my the little pillow they've placed of the wooden chair decorated in Angelina's drawings and seen by mercy I'm sure. "The kids made it," she smiles while I point. My eyes then fall on our meal, one of my favourite meals but it takes at the very least six hours to make.

"You made," she stops me with a nod. I stare at the food on the table while she gently lowers me to my seat. "Baby girl," I smile pulling her arms down so she's at my level giving her a soft kiss.

"You needed something special," she smiles while the kids share themselves some food.

"You're special enough,"
