Chapter 7~ Mason's death

Punching, kicking, sweat dripping off my forehead. Boom, one final hit I threw to the punching bag, it's impact cutting my knuckles. No bionics to protect me, just another human being fighting to save her life.

"Elena, Steve is requesting your presence in the living area" Jarvis's voice filled the whole gym.

"In a minute" I mumbled. I took a drink out of my water bottle, breathing heavily I made my way upstairs in my gym clothes.

"Yea Steve what's up?" I said casually.

"How are you feeling?" Steve said concerned.

"I'm feeling really great actually." I said throwing a big smile. Steve was about to say something but was cut off when the rest of the avengers came in all dressed up in their mission suits. I looked at them curiously.

"Where are you guys going?" I asked.

"Just out" Tony said hesitant.

"In your suits?" I questioned walking up to Tony, knocking on his hard Iron Man suit.

"Yup." Tony said looking down at me.

"Okay...." I said walking away. I knew what was going on but I didn't bother to say anything, they were going out on a mission and they weren't gonna take me along because they think I'm weak now without my bionics. I jumped on the couch turning on Netflix and put Friends on.

"Take care of yourself Elena". Clint said putting his hand on my shoulder. I nodded and continued watching. Once they left, I looked over my shoulder to make sure they left. I walked to the nearest mirror. I looked at myself.

"Tell me what to do father." I looked at myself in the mirror.

"I'm so lost, I feel like I'm going around in circles, getting no where. I'm tired of being weak." I said sadly. I swear I saw my fathers reflection in the mirror looking back at me, my imagination is creating these images. A thought sparked in my mind, something that had to do with Max.

"No, no, no." I yelled.

"Damn it Max." I said angrily. I ran out of the Avengers tower. I kept running and running. I had no destination, I just knew I had to find Max. I ran into a familiar alleyway. I saw the door, walking towards to it, I opened it and a big gulf of darkness was ahead.

"Elena" a voice whispered.

"Max" I replied. Max stepped out of the corners of the room, the lights flipping on.

"What are you doing here sweetheart?? You're weak, no bionics." He smirked. I laughed lightly. Wow word sure does get around quickly.

"I thought bionics was all that I needed to be important, but some certain people made me see that it isn't." I said.

"Was one of those people Tony, or shall I say lover boy?" Max laughed at his own joke.

"I don't know what you're talking about" I said looking confused. Max grumbled and shook it off.

"Why are you here Elena?" Max questioned.

"Liquid bionics." I said simply. It finally made sense.

"Oh so I guess you found that out already?"

"My father was a very smart man, you just keep stealing his work." I replied.

"Enough talking." Max said. Mason geoleaped into the room. He grabbed my wrist and flipped me, I fell on my back, moaning in pain. I laid there for a second. I know how to take Mason down. Even when I had my bionics, I was never able to use all my abilities all at once. It would burn all circuits. I just need Mason to use all of them at once, I need to get rid of Mason and then I can focus on Max and his plan.

"Mason." I said standing up. He looked at me in pure hate.

"Blast me, I have no reason to live. I hate everything, I hate myself. Just do it." I said.

"Give it everything you've got." I said looking him dead in the eye, challenging him.

"Gladly." He scoffed. I looked at him, I saw he was giving it all his all, and that's exactly what I need. He will destroy himself if he goes to the fullest. His body started glowing red, fire sparks were sparkling everywhere around him.

"Ughhh" he screamed, he targeted the blast to me, I closed my eyes and prepared for impact. But it never came, I opened my eyes and I saw Steve standing in front of me with his shield. I looked around and I saw the Avengers all here, and a pretty pissed off Tony Stark was looking at me shaking his head. I looked back at Mason, his body started trembling, he looked up at me.

"Elena, what did you do?" He said stuttering.

"Our human bodies can't handle this much power, it wasn't mean to be tampered with, how dumb can you possibly be to fall for that." I said coldly.

"Even your super close bff Max left you here alone." I said sarcastically.

"Bye bye Mason." I said blowing a kiss.

"Elena let's go." Steve said urgently, he grabbed me by the waist and threw me on his back. He ran out of the building with the Avengers following after and seconds later the whole building blew up, the impact threw us to the ground. Mason was gone. One less problem to deal with. I sat up using my elbows as support, I blew the hair away from my face. I looked at the Avengers, they looked at me weirdly.

"What?" I said giving them a weird look back.

"You guys go ahead." Tony said, the Avengers left, and Tony walked towards me in his Iron Man suit. His suit unfolding and revealing his face and body.

"What was that back there" he said angrily. I shook my head not understanding.

"Those words you said about yourself, is that how you really think!?" He started yelling at me.

"No Tony--" I started talking but he cut me off.

"Elena never, never say you hate yourself again!"

"Tony I" I tried to talk. He grabbed my shoulders and brought me closer to his face.

"Don't say those things" he whispered looking into my eyes. I sighed and covered his mouth with my hand.

"Let me speak." I said sternly.

"I said those things so Mason can hurt me, it worked but Mr Captain America saved me, but it's nice to see how much you care Tony". I said smiling slightly. Tony chuckled a bit. I smiled at him. I felt Tony's hand on my waist, he pulled me closer, and pulled me into a kiss, I gasped in surprise, but I found myself kissing him back. In that moment, I forgot about everything, and focused on the only thing that really matters.

Tony Stark, the man that I fell in love with for the past couple of months with but didn't realize until now.

THEY FINALLY KISSED HAHA. Next chapter will be a light one, since there's been so much drama and plot happening in all these chapters, I don't know if you guys like that, is you guys do please tell me so I know. But looks like Max has a new evil plan with liquid bionics since his now Elena is now worthless to him without her bionic chip, his plan will be introduced in the next few chapters.
