Chapter 1

"Fat. Ugly. Stupid. " I whispered these words to myself as i pulled the blanket to my nose. I dreaded the first day of school . Eighth grade will be terrible. i couldn't sleep at all. But after a few hours i finally dozed off knowing that my best friend, Lola, would be there with me.

My alarm clock went off at 5:30 as it always did on school days, with its annoying ringing sound in my ear. I shut it off and got dressed. Yay! i got a full hour of sleep.

When i got to school, i trudged to my locker and my books. I felt a tap on shoulder. I turn around to see an all to familiar, Lola Tolly. "Hi!!" She shrieked. "Hey. " I replied with out all the excitement. She was alright with the first day of school, but i hated it. "Did you not get much sleep?" she asked. " A whole hour..." I said. We started to walk to our class since we had the same period. " You shouldn't worry so much! you know i'll always be here for you!" she assured me. " I know ." i said smiling.

*one year later*

I sat there listening to music when i heard a knock on my door. i got up and opened the door to see Lola. I smiled and let her in. " Can we go to your room? i need to talk to you. " She asked. I frowned at her sad face ,but nodded. We went up stairs and i shut the door behind us. "So, what did you want to ask me?" i asked concerned. "My dad... lost his job. " She said " so... we have... to move. " She looked down at the ground. "What!!"
