With her, I could not have been more changed
To pursue living joy.
I flare and redden often at this thought
That you’ll return below
In our terrestrial atmosphere.
Still so deep in love,
Always turns its eyes to where she was
Nothing compared with that divine shone on me
Her smiling look impelled me
To the swiftest of the skies, living bright
But she is nowhere other than the mind of God
Brightness and love contain in one ring
And only He know the bond.
So now before the cheek is covered with a beard,
These circling heights send down such rays
So long waited for
The sky will start to transform
And stars lose their semblance
Then the sun advances, dawning the skies
Little by little before my gaze.
And so I turned my eyes towards her
I saw, as sunlight trembles in feeble eyes,
How sweet to me her smile was. This piece shows how even after the girl had died, his love for her remained and did not changed. Although it suggests in lines 6-8 that he might have tried to pursue other romantic relationships in the past but all failed. From line 14 until the end, it narrates how the guy had died in his older years without finding anyone who could compare with the girl. In the end, he joins her in heaven or where ever else they could finally be happy together again. Idk why I'm pointing this out but I like how the first poem starts with her face, describing it and how the last poem ends with also her face, particularly her smile. It's like everything started and ended with him looking at her. Idk I'm just finding reasons to absolutely love my own work.
Hope you have enjoyed all of this.
