The efforts of the US ARMY had failed. The end was here. Tanks and bodies littered the streets. The sky dark and gloomy, reflecting the feelings of the survivors. No sounds were heard, it was eerie. One thing had led to another and the apocalypse had started. Now there was no way to stop it. Everything was already in motion. Demons killing humans and slaughtering families. The world was at war... what was left at least. No one was safe and hideouts were hard to find. The desperation was setting in... no one was going to survive this apocalypse. The survivors in Helena Montana were sparse... several had retreated into the Rockies. With few humans left few demons. The majority of demons were running operations in large cities, z York, Tallahassee, Austin and more.
Jake was wandering around the forest areas of Helena Montana. It was safer to stay out of city limits or heavily populated areas that posed the most threat. He sighed a bit as he continued on with his trusty pistols. It was hell on earth right now and he had to survive. Not let those abominations cause his end. He had to stay strong.
Dirk had strayed from the city; no human was stupid enough to stay there any longer. Everyone had picked up and left. If you climbed to far up the mountain it was dangerous but if you stayed to low, it could be even worse. He stayed in an area where the forest met the mountains, best spot to find humans. Dirk had mostly stayed in the city, faring better the comfort of shelter... today he was looking for some action.
Jake had continued on as he approached a bush full of berries. He checked the leaves of the bush along with the color and appearance of the berries. They seemed safe to eat. He began to pick a couple for now. They would last him awhile out here. Perhaps he should continue to the mountains and see if anyone else is alive. He continued making a few rustling noises as he pushed branches aside and stepped on leave piles and such.
Jade stumbled down the Rocky Mountain slope... she knew it was dangerous but she had to find food. Her life depended on it. She fell and rolled down the mountain side. Getting cut and scraped and bruised. She let out a shrill scream of terror, and scrambled for purchase as she fell. She came to a stop and coughed and hacked, she had made a big mistake. She was alone, injured, and easy prey.
Dirk sat up, aware. Looks like dinner was served. He climbed higher into the tree spying for the human that had screamed. Jake heard a loud scream and froze in his tracks. Was it human, animal or demon? He wasn't sure but he had heard a demon before but never one scream. He heard their animalistic growls. But never a scream. He rushed towards the sound, hope that a human was alive filling his soul. He didn't want to be the only one. He wanted to see someone that wasn't a demon. Dirk soon spotted Jade and a slick smile plastered his face. He dropped down from the tree feet away from her. "Well well, well... what do we have here?" He asked maliciously licking his lips. Jade pushed herself off the ground. She couched and sputtered. She reached her hand to her lip, pulling it away to reveal blood. Hot tears ran down her face as she rolled onto her back. She looked herself over. She screamed again when she saw the strange position her ankle was bent into. She was disable and alone. This is how she'd die. She knew it. Jake rushed through the forest as he heard another ear piercing scream. He took a risk and fired a shot into the air before sprinting at full force towards the sound. He was making quite the racket. He needed to find that person and quickly. Dirk flinched in surprise as the bullet shot through the air I front of him. "Two of you! Even better!" Jade heard the gun and shrieked again. "Help help!" She squealed. She tried to get up only for the immediate weight on her ankle sending her plummeting back towards the ground. "Please..." she pleased looking at the older one from ahead spoke as if he was a model, a deep and stern tone. "I'm not ready to die...."
