Her eyes cracked open slowly, her vision blurred from the sleep that had taken her. As her eyes adjusted to the soft blue light filtering into the room, she leaned up and stretched her taut muscles. Despite being a high-class omega, she was in her bed alone again. Not that she minded. Malachite eyes glazed over in thoughts, releasing them to be a surreal daydream.
Though she let her mind wander upon the girlish dreams she had once depended on as a child, picturing a sleeping alpha next to her, his soft breathing puncturing the painful silence. She would kiss his forehead and brush the hair out of his eyes, and go to the kitchen and make breakfast that would wait until he woke up, and maybe even have a kid or two running around her legs, shouting "Mommy! Mommy!" She couldn't help but droop her eyes just slightly with a sad smile, as every past alpha she'd ever had left due to getting bored, or getting tempted by another. It was a dog eat dog world, after all.
Shaking her head to dispel any further thinking on the feminine topic, she swung her legs over the side of the mattress and stood up, checking the time. 5:45 AM. She had really thought for fifteen minutes..? A new record. She laughed to herself, though it seemed more forlorn. She would talk about it over lunch with her friends later.
Stretching her tired limbs once again, she strode over to the window and parted the navy curtains, revealing a vast atmosphere of every shade of blue you could imagine. It had hints of green, with far-off stars twinkling in the distance. Even with how far it was, she could get there within fifteen minutes on this ship. Not that she had any free time to do so today, not at all.
Gazing out the window to admire the space in front of her a little longer, she already heard boots marching down the hallways. Young recruits getting ready too early for breakfast, of course. It wasn't as if they wouldn't get a meal.
Raising her arms above her head, tilting backwards until her spine cracked, her long, wavy auburn hair tickled the end of her tailbone. It was just hair, but she shivered anyways, sliding her hands down the milky white flesh until it found the bottom of her shirt, pulling it off in one languid movement, her shorts following soon after. Her uniform consisted of baggy khaki pants with a dark brown belt, brown combat boots, and a black tank top with an old jacket she brought herself.
Looking at herself in the mirror, she brushed and tied that luxurious red hair into a bun behind her head, brushing a single strand away from her face. Freckles dotted the near-flawless porcelain flesh, and long lashes brushed her cheeks. Emerald eyes stared back at her reflection in the mirror, and she pondered slightly to herself why she didn't have more men chasing after her. Maybe it was her snappy nature, unlike most omegas.
Once again, an oddity, she let her mind drift to the omega-beta-alpha complex. There were born classes, but that didn't really stop her from doing anything. Except heats, which forced her to stay alone in her room for up to a week with the door locked. Alphas could smell her, and so could betas. If she went out during that time, she might crumble into an alpha's scent, or start a fight over her. Not that she would mind, just not right now.
Hearing the breakfast alarm go off, she ripped herself away from the thoughts, pulled on her dog tags, and walked out briskly. Her boots made dull thuds against the polished titanium floor, though it would soon be covered in mud or something else by the end of the day. The soft scent of eggs wafted to her nose, and the fainter scent of alphas and omegas gathering. The smell didn't bother her as much, as their influence was a low-class. She was a first class omega, so she could handle herself until she found an alpha of her class. She never had before, and she still wanted to.
The woman found herself at a table, surrounded by several of her comrades. Te bunch consisted of a petite, stubby-nosed blonde with bright blue eyes and freckles, and a brunette with soft brown eyes, similar to a doe. Their names were Amelia and Konda, both omegas of the third class. They were both mated, so they gave off a soft scent of a masculine alpha to protect the flowery smell of an omega.
Amelia was mated to a large Russian alpha named Viktor, and he opted to stay in their room all day, choosing to eat at dinner only. He was almost seven feet tall, with pale skin, a big nose, and deep violet eyes with black hair. His accent was thick, and Amelia seemed so small compared to him. It was endearing to see her petite, soft hand held in his large, calloused one.
Konda was mated to a Chinese one, however. He seemed like a stickman, and he cooked for the group. He was pale, with a feminine face, green eyes, and long white hair. Konda was taller, but she seemed happy. They both did, often kissing on her way to work, and they held matching hands back to their room at night.
"Cerise! Snap out of those thoughts, girl!" Amelia squealed, said woman shaking her head and looking up. "Your breakfast is getting cold!" She smiled slightly at her friend's loyalty to her cooling breakfast, her plastic fork digging in and cutting the pancakes to size. Drenching them in an ocean of syrup, along with the eggs, she ate and liesurely chatted away.
They spoke of coming alphas, if they were such beings, and the divisions of cards. Cards were no longer a threat, but at one point, it defined their entire life. Spades were the class with intellect and speed, often coming out on top with purebred lines. Hearts were defensive and soft, usually falling in love with anyone who passed. Clubs were the strongest, usually having muscle and intimidation. They bred with the strongest as well. Diamonds were rare and arrogant, often being delicate and social. They all had perks.
Ever since they all combined, though, it was alright. Nobody seemed that different, and abilities were never trained to the maximum anymore. She was a Club, but she never bunched up her muscle. She just had unnatural strength. It gave her the upper hand in most fights, which was definitely helpful.
Their conversation was interrupted by a loud crash, the windows shattering and diamond-like specks of glass flying into nearby victims. She looked up immediately to see a huge rival ship, it looking... almost like that of a pirate's. Before her adult side could take over, she was tied up and blindfolded. In her panic, she clawed at the ropes unseen, only realizing then she had spaced out in a shock.
Their ship was being pillaged by space pirates.
