Venturing Out

As my jobs picked up more clients, I ran into a nice fella whose name was Marcus. Marcus lived a lot farther up the road. He lived in Biloxi, Mississippi.

I had asked Beulah if she felt safe enough for me to go to Biloxi Mississippi with Marcus to see something different about Mississippi and just plain old venturing out.

Biloxi, Mississippi is located in Harrison county. He lived near the beach where his living conditions were much better.

Beulah seemed okay with it but told Lenny to not stay to long because she would soon get lonely, and wasn't used to living alone.

Lenny reassured Beulah that he wouldn't be long and that he was just trying to find out about new areas in Mississippi and seeing if he would like another area other than where he had lived.

Lenny kissed Beulah and soon was off on his new adventure with his new friend Marcus.

As we traveled to where Marcus lived, we came across some wonderful places not far from where Marcus had lived.

There we found a Juke Joint. It's an informal establishment featuring music, dancing, gambling, and of course drinking, primarily operated by some Upper class high yellow mixed black Americans in the southeast part of America.

I think I'm going to love this place Marcus. This is far different from where I live because I have been so isolated in one area that I never thought to venture out and explore other areas and get to meet other people

Maybe one day, me and my wife can relocate the business here if at all possible.

Marcus was easy going. He had a harmonica and just played that thing and really just patted his feet and we just enjoyed ourselves and drank.

I on the other hand wasn't use to all of the different varieties of alcoholic drinks, so I would try different ones, and soon enjoyed the buzz and the different variations of tastes.

I ended up staying the night out of town with Marcus mainly because he didn't want to bring me back home intoxicated but he as well had had too much to drink himself.

I think that I can get use to this change of scenery and living Marcus. I need a change from my parents old ways of living. It's time to come up to a more fun way to live.

When Lenny had gotten back home. Beulah wasn't in a good mood at all, and told him so. I don't appreciate you up and leaving me here by my lonesome and you going off somewhere to be with your friend Marcus. Sure it's okay to get away but don't forget about your wife.

Lenny was a smooth talker. He rubbed Beulah's hair, stood her up and taught her some of that juke joint music and swaying. Beulah seemed to be swept away with this new dancing and new Lenny.

She didn't mind learning something new, but she sure enough didn't want him to keep going off and leaving her. Lenny reassured Beulah that he was thinking of relocating them if he were able to find some better work in Biloxi.

Beulah was okay with that but she said that she was also concerned with Lenny's drinking for he had been drinking much more lately and had come back with some new alcoholic drinks.

Beulah wasn't a drinker at all. She was a rather laid back down home old fashioned kind of a lady, but she loved her Lenny and knew that she would be in good hands with him, because so far, he hadn't led her wrong as of yet.

If only he could get a better control over this drinking frenzy.
