- illegitimate son of the king's cousin (which no one knows about; for all intents and purposes he is a low-born bastard)
- he's the private tutor of the king's youngest son (Aleksy)
- he grew up away from the palace in like.. a monastery-type place
how did he get to be Aleksy's tutor, you may ask? to be honest, I've made so many different explanations that I don't remember which one it was. His entire backstory is a plothole.
