The young American sat with the pale Russian man, each wondering what was going to happen next. The U.S.S.R. was about to split, and the males didn't know what would be happening next. They spoke for a few hours, the sunny sky turning into a dark, cloudy and gray one. Ivan looked to the sky, then to his hands, noticing his fingertips. They were almost transparent. As soon as the first tear left Ivan's eyes, the rain started coming down. Alfred stood up, looking at Ivan. Alfred had hated the rain ever since the day he declared independence. He knew he hurt one of his closest friends that day. Ivan then stood up, looking down to the ground. He pulled of his scarf, revealing the scarred neck he always hid. He took the scarf and wrapped it around the blonde's neck. He gave a small, sweet smile. Alfred let his tears fall as he realized what was happening. He didn't truly understand it though. Ivan's body slowly started disappearing.
When Alfred noticed, he hugged him close. "Please Ivan.. You can't go.. You're my best friend.. I need you.." The tall man hugged back.
"Sorry Alfred, I can't stay anymore. But I will always be with you," he pointed to his heart, "in here." His smile was as clear as day when he fully disappeared. Alfred fell to the floor on his knees, crying his heart out. He didn't know how to express what he was feeling...
