In January of 2009, my mom and I were on our way home after she got off work. Once we pulled into the drive way, we went inside only to see my brother trying to hide something in our room. When the bedroom door opened, out came a dog that was a black lab- golden retriever mix. His name was Zeus, he was 3 months old at the time. We had him for 6 years, and those years where full of fun, and happiness. In January of 2015 he had to be put to sleep because of a tumor on the side of his face.
We took Zeus to the pumpkin patch for the first time, there it was loud, crowded, smelly, and had a happy feeling. He had fun meeting other dogs, and a lot of people that where there. A few years later he started to have problems at first it was dislocating his jaw with a medium sized solid rubber red ball that he got for Christmas. He would play with the round hunk of rubber so much that Zeus would hurt himself while playing with it. It would get to the point where he could not eat, or even open his mouth. In June of 2014, my family and I found out that he had a tumor on the left side of his face it got so bad that it burst inside of his mouth making him bleed a lot, the vet sent a sample of the tumor to a lab, and the results said that it was cancerous, but we had 2 options we could do a biopsy or do surgery, both would cost a lot of money, so we decided to wait until it was time to put him to sleep.
Those last 6 months were really hard on me and my family, but the day came when it was his time to go my mom, dad, and brother went with Zeus to the vet to be with him in his last few minutes of life, while I stayed home where it was quite, lonely, and depressing and cried. It was nearly an hour when my mom, dad, and brother arrived home from the vet's office. They came back with a ceramic paw print for us to keep
