I sat back in my chair as the screensaver takes over my computer, pipes drawing their way across my screen. The darkness in my room settled, the computer being the only thing giving off light. A.K. called out a few times before jumping into my lap, practically forcing me to pet him. I complied with his request and smoothed down his fur as my hand slid down his back. He began to purr happily. It was then that I heard the clack of the front door open and then close. I smiled, knowing it could only be Felix. He had been staying at my home for the past couple of days because of a convention taking place in none other than Florida. I picked up A.K. and got to my feet and walked out into the halls as he turned on the lights. I cringed and practically hissed, making him jump and nearly drop the many grocery bags he was caring.
“You’re back, I wondered where you went. You didn’t have to go shopping, you’re my guest after all."
“Bro.” he stated back with a smug look, “I love pizza as much as the next guy but people can get sick of it when they’ve had it for three days in a row.”
“That’s true… But you didn’t have to shop for me. I should pay you back, friend.” I say, patting myself down for my wallet which I usually misplace.
He laughs and shakes his head before resting his hand on my shoulder, “Don’t worry about it, it’s the least I can do since you’re letting me stay here. Now, why don’t I make my swedish specialty.”
“Oh boy, a five star meal?” I asked, clasping my hands together and fluttered my eyelashes like a moron.
At that point we both laughed like the two fools we were.
“Sort of. Spaghetti.” Felix smiled and walked into the kitchen. I sighed and walked over to the T.V., turning it on and flipping through the channels and let A Good Day to DIe Hard play.
(I shit you not, I just went to the movies channels and just picked one that was playing at the moment so I know nothing about the movie.)
I zoned out during the next half hour until Felix snapped me out of it, “Dinner, Ryan!” he stated, handing me a plate of spaghetti and sitting down next to me. We quickly gobbled down the spaghetti and watched countless movies and laughed our asses off.
“I’m gonna get a drink.” Felix states while standing.
“Go right ahead.” I state back waving a hand. I was focused on the movie currently playing. The next thing I know, he puts a beer in my hand that was still over my shoulder. I turn and give him a look only to have him return it with a smug smile.
“If we’re going to stay up all night, why not have some fun with it.” We then proceeded to drink away the night and play many games while cursing each other out. My mind was a fuzz when Felix cooes that it’s time we should go to bed.
“You’ve had enough, bro. It’s time you go to bed.”
“I don’ wanna…” I wailed.
He chuckled, “Come on. Get up.” he pulled me to my feet only to have me lose the feeling in my legs and sit on the floor. I giggled as the room spun. “I guess I have no choice.” Felix stated and the next thing I knew he gathered me up in his arms, bridal style.
“Whoa! Wai-! What are you?!” I blurt out, grabbing onto his shirt. The shock cleared my head slightly and I began to become aware of his existence so close to me. His warmth. His breath that was running down my neck. His broad shoulders. His scent… Vanilla? Or was it cinnamon? I wasn’t aware of my blush until he chuckled.
“You look so adorable when you blush. I never knew you would be so devilishly handsome in person.” I swallow harshly feeling all the blood circulate to my face. I didn’t notice that we were already in my room until he set me down on the bed but he still kept dangerously close to me. The strange thing was he seemed to be getting closer and closer, making my heart flutter.
